    My buddy?

I have multiple times called for Ireland's firing from the very second I learned he wouldn't replace Martin and dump Cogs like Philbin wanted, which was months before the main board here did. Not only that, but going back two years ago, I said he should be fired if we didn't make the playoffs this past year.

See, I have these things called 'reasons" for wanting someone fired, while you are just a pathetic little hate machine. For example, since Ireland has been fired you haven't even skipped a beat in transferring your hate to Philbin even though there's no effing way we were as good as we were if Ireland AND Philbin sucked.

Unless somebody has read statements that I haven't, the title of this thread is rather disingenuous. And I've seen similar threads and statements elsewhere that McDonald's comments negate the entire report.

The only thing that I've read that he's said is:

Never once does he deny that anything in that report is factually correct. He only says that he's no longer a member of the Dolphins (he's on the Panther's practice squad) and that his relationship with Turner and the Dolphins organization was fine and he doesn't like how it was portrayed. Other comments have used the term "mischaracterized".

That's the same sort of comment that people make when they say their comments were "taken out of context", while not refuting the accuracy of the account.

This guy couldn't make our practice squad, and he's struggling to make it in the NFL and he had to say something because between the report and the texts it was easy to identify who he was. So instead of having the media spend the next months or weeks bothering him, he said: "It's me, I have no problem with the Dolphins or Turner, I'm on a new team and I want to move on and the report made me look like an even bigger wuss than Martin and I disagree with that."

His comments don't speak at all to whether the Wells report, either specifically regarding him or in general, is factually accurate.

His saying things that were in regards to him were blown out of proportion, otherwise he'd no longer have the highest regards for Turner and the Dolphins.

You are here only for Bullygate, not interested enough in the Dolphins otherwise to be involved? Just curious.

Nyah, been around Dolphins Forums for the past 10 or 15 years or so. I'd love to have other conversations that don't involve this specific topic, but it does actually seem to bring out peoples inter-most beliefs and I find that interesting.

Do you want a tough nosed, bloody, fight to the death team? Or do you want a fast, quick, smaller but score lots of points team?

Would you rather your team be the one on the schedule that everybody hates to play because they know that they might win the game against you - but they'll probably lose the next week because the game was so physical?

Or do you want your team to be the team that wins because it's smarter and more prepared than the other team?

You might think these questions have nothing to do with the Wells report or the Dolphins' locker room, but I think they all run together.

Where's the vision? What type of team is this supposed to be? What type of team does Ross want? What type of teams do us, as fans, want?

If you'd like to discuss those other things in a different thread, I'd love to do so. But for now, you need to realize the main focus and discussion not only on Dolphins forums but nationally in regard to the NFL is going to be bullygate. And my feeling is that even if you don't discuss the specifics of what happened here, you can clearly see why this team is under performing by what is going on in this report.

Holy crap, really? Incognito and Jerry are fighting with members of their own unit? And their unit stinks. Incognito and Jerry stink. I don't care that Incognito was voted to the Pro Bowl last season, he can't do jack except block in a man blocking scheme. He can't zone block, he can't pull, he can't pass protect, and neither can Jerry. Yet, if you get them in a locker room, I'll bet they're damn intimidating. Especially when it's three on one.

yea, 2012, we all know. but you were in the minority because you wanted to give him one more year (that he didn't deserve in the first place) while people like me thought he should have been fired and didn't trust him to make the right decisions in arguably the team's biggest offseason in recent memory.

we fired him a year too late, a new general manager probably would have used that GM's dream of resources a bit more wisely and we'd have finally had a winning season and a playoff berth.

Oh I had plenty of reasons for wanting to finally sever ties with the guy compared to Matt Millen in league circles. and I think Philbin should have been fired, it would have helped us immensely with our GM search, not to mention he's isn't that good at his job, but no, I don't hate him. I do hate the owner though.

I don't know... philbin just seems a little insecure to me. Sorta Sabanish but like Saban wuz the old guy you delivered papers to as a kid. Granted Philbin had no say as to personnel decisions and all that.

Lacking veteran leadership the players will naturally look to management for guidance mentoring and support and from my very comfortable recliner that's where it all went to Ish

He does not suck. He was a middle of the pack punter the last time he had steady work. He was 5th in hang time and 17th in net avg in 2012 among punts who played in 8 or more games. Middle of the pack punters are not worth the headache when they are outspoken on controversial issues. If Kluwe could punt like Brandon Fields he could be outspoken and still have a job.

A practice squad o-lineman is a little less powerful than a middle of the pack punter, even. I'm not sure why anybody would expect anything of substance from a guy who is grateful to be hanging on.

His attorney on OTL right now. Not sure who the host is but he doesn't want to hear it. McDonald's rep says main reason he came on is to set the record straight on Turner; thinks highly of Turner, felt the report misrepresented him.

Ill open with Sherman. I get the loyalty thing. You dance with who brung ya. But...

I really liked what I was seeing out of Philbin to start. Two sided practice field. Fast paced offense. Pass action. Modern football.

Then we turned in to a empty lot game of smear the queer. No offense but the east coast old guys will get the reference.

Felt like he let his old teacher lead instead of making him follow.

I think since he had never been a HC he brought along a guy who had been a pretty successful one that he trusted. I think he absolutely had a blind spot when it came to Sherman, though. As far as how this season went, I think he didn't have the tools to completely implement his system. I think we had the specific tools for some jobs (Indy, Pats, Steelers, Bengals, etc.) and didn't have the tools for other jobs (Bills, Saints, etc.). Part of that missing tool set was a power running game. Its not uncommon for an offense predicated on mostly passing to wear down at the end of games and seasons. If Hickey truly understands what Philbin is looking for, we'll be a powerhouse.

We always called Kill the Man with the Ball. A friend of mine lived on his grandparents little grass airstrip. It was out in the middle of nowhere, so when there were no planes coming in at night and the lights were off it was pitch black. We'd get a glow stick and use that for the ball. Running around in the dark with a glow stick knowing you're about to get leveled is bizarre fun.

And, he refuted the entire take - noting it was a lighthearted joke - about which there has been and continues to be an endless drivel of pointless, baseless and vacuous venom.

It appears the investigator completely misconstrued the circumstances in several instances in his report.

McKinney's comments are also worthwhile because he also has nothing to hide, prove or fear.

I find it interesting that McDonald didn't deny any of the facts presented nor did he defend any of the players. He defended Jim Turner but I think many of us imagined already that Turner's prank was not done with any malicious intent but was actually just having some fun and I think McDonald himself may have found the joke humorous. That doesn't change how incredibly inappropriate it was though.

What I specifically find interesting though is his not denying the shower story presented in the Wells report where Mike Pouncey snuck up behind him, held him and told other teammates to "come get some *****"...and John Jerry went up behind him (all of them presumably naked) and simulated anal rape. If that story is even CLOSE to true then the commissioner needs to deal out significant suspensions to Pouncey and Jerry. Very significant suspensions.

It's important to note that the Wells report is a confirmation of events from the perspective of Martin. The hazing of McDonald and the trainer are events seen through Martin's eyes, which makes him a biased narrator. I believe that neither McDonald nor the trainer gave personal accounts to Wells that confirmed the story, but the events were public enough to be confirmed by other people. That doesn't absolve IPJ of the abuse, but it puts the truth closer to the middle then what the Wells report found.
