4 years removed from that yes. Did you see him against Ohio State in the more recent past? Nothing short of awful. That's the Chad Henne that comes out when the OL blocks the way ours is right now.

Sure, he's Brad Johnson with a cannon arm. Training camp and preseason don't equate to the regular season else Ricky Williams would've been a beast by now.

I'd rather find out later in the season when we're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Right now, we're not.

That's like saying a 1980 Hyundai is better than a 1970 Pinto. They're both immobile QB's and under this line, they'll get sacked or pressured into making the wrong decisions. A better arm doesn't mean success otherwise, it'd be Ryan Leaf winning SB's over Manning. If the OL doesn't give the QB time to use his arm, then it's useless if it doesn't come with a good brain.

Well I would guess that there isn't a lot of YAC on most 8 yard completions. The DB usually makes an immediate tackle on routes like the hook, down and out, or down and in. I get what you're saying though.

I wouldn't say the Charger and Bill wideouts are more capable of YAC than Dolphin wideouts are.

True. However, to play devil's advocate, that still doesn't mean Pennington challenged the defense vertically.

It stretches the defense because the safeties have to play further off the ball so they don't get burnt on a long bomb instead of stacking the box which gives them an extra defender against the run and short passes.

Agreed. However, the Dolphins, Jags, and Bengals (surprisingly) are the only teams whose receiving corps doesn't have a single reception for 40+ yards.
