I find myself watching this show all the time when it is on. This show is just dripping with incredible history. Ancient buildings, structures, text, drawings. I highly recommend this show. "How the hell did they do that back then???" is what you will be saying after you watch an episode. EDIT: It is on the History Channel all the time.
Look up the books of Zecharia Sitchin. He postulates the idea that we are actually descendants of alien beings who combined their DNA with ancient man's to create human life as we know it. His work is quite interesting to ponder, if a bit long on leaps of faith and short on actual science. Not saying I believe it; not saying I don't.
sounds like the premise of "V" lol. i have seen a few episodes. some of the stuff is interesting, but i dont like shows that allow the fringe to go on and on about their theories without them being challenged.
I like it more for the Historical value than anything else. How the hell did the build those gigantic structures? And why did they have all of those strange texts and drawings on the walls? And they go into great detail the way things were in certain ancient time periods. Good stuff.
At the risk of getting flamed, I do believe in extraterrestrials, and do believe they've visited our planet in the past, and continue to do so to this day. As vast as space is, and as many planets, solar systems, and stars out there IMO there is other life besides us, and some of it seems a-lot more technically advanced than we are.
I agree. No reason for you to be flamed. Even the Vatican recently said that there are probably aliens.
It only makes sense. The universe is such a vast place with so many variables in each "little" neighborhood of its billions of galaxies, that you have to figure the odds are there is more intelligent life out there. The question is: why would they be advanced enough to do what we can't do more than imagine—travel vast distances through space? Think of it this way: How do you think our technology will look in 500 years? Well, if not for the dark ages, that's about where we would be right now—right at this moment. For more than 500 years, almost all scientific advancement stopped; an alien civilization which started about the same time as we did and developed even just at the same rate as us would be 500 years more scientifically and technologically advanced than us right now, religious nonsense subtracted. And that's only if their genesis and development matched ours; the universe is about 14 billion years old, yet our planet only cooled a few billion years ago...what if a civilization's planet formed a couple billion years before ours, and their civilization was that much older?
