Its too bad we broought that play out in a loss.. Kind of seems like a waste now since teams have now seen it.
Yeah but you can't think like that. They certainly didn't bring it out thinking they were going to lose. They brought it out to try and win with it. It's just another wrinkle in the formation. How many times have people seen that run up the middle or the sweep to the side? Williams and Brown still blow by them or knock them on their ***. This is just one more thing they have to focus on inside the wildcat formation and it helps us all around.
The more variations they come up with, the more versatile it becomes and the harder it becomes to defend against. Hopefully it becomes such a threat that teams have to design different defensive schemes to try and cope with it. Its really refreshing and exciting that we now have coaches who can be this innovative.
yeah, it is too bad we lost, but think of it this way... now teams have one more thing to watch out for, and try to defend when we come out in the wildcat... is ronnie going to run? is ricky going to run? are we going to pass? If anything, now that teams know we'll pass out of the formation it will cause some of the D to hang back, so sure, the pass may not be there, but that just leaves some more running room.
