Danny Amendola has only been a Miami Dolphin for two months, but he’s already making a difference.

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said on PFT Live that Amendola, through his effort in offseason workouts, has shown other players what a championship-level effort looks like.

“It’s one of those values that I don’t think you can put a price on,” Gase said. “He’s been great in our locker room. I think the guys watch him work on the field and in the weight room and they understand why he’s played as long as he has, why he’s had success in big situations.”

Gase believes Amendola is making the Dolphins better even before he starts catching passes.

“Any time you can get a guy who can not only produce for you but can be a great example for other guys in your locker room, he’s making other guys better,” Gase said. “He makes 24 other offensive guys better if they watch him work.”

The 32-year-old Amendola spent the last five years in New England before moving on this year, and the Dolphins like the winning attitude he brings from the Patriots.

As much as we hate the Pats, they are a very well disciplined team that takes 100% advantage of their time on the field, in the weight room, etc. Some have compared it to a Nazi regimen since it's clearly a dictatorship where you fall in line or get escorted out of the building.

That’s all fine and dandy but I’m worried that come game time a 32 year old wideout isn’t going to be a difference maker like he was in NE. Hope I’m wrong but his better days are behind them and we need better days!

Oops, LOL....yes. I'll change that now.

Look at it this way- Brandon Albert was brought in over a similar situation and he was injured on the bench as much as he was on the field. He was solid when he played though and he mentored Tunsil at that guard position- I don't think 2016 shakes out the same without him.

And I really see Amendola in a similar role- it would be great if he produces, but just as great if he leads by example and gets the WR group focused.

Even when Amendola was young and fresh in the league he had injury problems so you will never come close to sniffing 16 games from him. Especially now that he is 32. But if you can have him healthy at the right time to help you make the push to the post season and into the playoffs the guy comes up huge when you call his number.

That's not a bad thing and clearly his leadership, if the above is to be believed, will be huge.

I assumed he meant that 'like' as sarcasm. :)

The context didn't lend itself towards that, but certainly no biggie. I do it all the time. Just helping a brotha' out.
I can't have us liking no Patsies, even in a typo. :chuckle:
