Now that is a signing I would be happy with, adds competition at ILB and I could see him replacing Channing Crowder even. Bring him in Bill!

I also saw this and was shocked because hes a good linebacker. I think if he gets cut, he will eventually end up here.

I think there'll be some teams interested in a good linebacker like Akin... 2.5 mil is not too bad of a hit to trade for.

I read this yesterday and for some reason (brain fart?) never even considered bringing him here. That would be a very good pick-up for us, plus I don't think it would be too much to pick-up his contract, given our current Cap health.

The other thing is his ability to disseminate information about the system they are going to run. having players who are starters with prior knowledge of a new system is incredibly valuable.

The other way to look at this is what happens to Bobby Carpenter if Ayodele stays along with Zach. They wil be running out of spots soon I would think. I would really look to this situation around June 1st or about a month afterwards.

I dont think Ayodele is any better than what we have. Crowder, in all his mediocreness is about as equally productive, but has better upside. I dont know that Ayodele is better than Torbor, either.

I don't see it. With an increased salary cap he should still be affordable. Besides, it would be extremely short-sighted to cut the guy. As good a LB as Zach is, he wears down and is prone to injury. So, in other words assuming that Zach wins the starting job from Ayodele , there is a very good chance that Ayodele is still going to see significant playing time.
