I'm not arguing whether it was good/bad to get rid of Ajayi. I'm arguing it's generally (not always) bad to get rid of individual data points when comparing stats from two different conditions. Oh, and yes.. 3 ypc. btw.. that "not always" refers to things like being able to estimate the probability something is an outlier IF you know the underlying distribution, etc.. doesn't apply here.
Speaking of Ajayi... Has anyone heard anything about the Eagles trading us their 4th round pick that they received from the Vikes? It seems that if the Vikes make it to the NFCCG that 4th rounder will turn into a 3rd rounder. And a 2nd rounder if the Vikes win the Super Bowl.
Haha good catch. I didn't notice that the first time I read it. Got all excited for nothing. I was about to start hardcore rooting for them now.
Oh wow, that's pretty exciting if that's the pick they traded to us. So now I'm rooting for Miami AND Minne to win the Super Bowl? I also just looked- the Vikes are 10-2 with an 8 game win streak and 1st place in the NFC! The only problem is that the Eagles are 4-0 in the division and the Vikes are 3-1....so Philly swept them (their only two losses). That means we are rooting against Philly and Ajayi from here on out to lose at least one more than the Vikings.
First off, he never mentioned Tannenbaum anywhere. But if we get a 2nd round pick for a guy Gase was forced to bench or cut, it's a pretty darn smart move. Sorry that doesn't fit your agenda here but there's one glaring thing you're overlooking in all of this- it's not like people are either a HOF superstar or a complete bust. But that's how you act over everyone on our team- either they're perfect or they suck. And I'm sorry, nobody's perfect.
But it’s a 4th rounder.... it can’t be a 2nd or 3rd...its literally impossible that it’s anything but a 4th rounder lol... if the Vikings made it to the *2016* and I will say it again *2016* NFCCG it could of been a 2nd rounder... but it’s 2017 and *2016* already happened so it’s a 4th round pick unless you can time travel.
This is a totally ridiculous conclusion on your part based on an emotional response to Dan. No idea how you made that leap. Regardless, it was a legitimate question with no assertions whatsoever. If you'd read the transaction notes on the trade, you'd have seen that it was void anyway.
He is the one that didn't read the note and implied something that is not accurate. Why don't you get on his case?
You're right..I missed that in the fine print. Of course, we can NEVER admit we're wrong though if we're playing by your rules, which is exactly why you ignored my last comment and went with this instead. Nice move dirty! By the way, don't get confused again and post from the wrong account....we all know how that turned out last time!
Tbaum is responsible for trades, so if you incorrectly imply that the ajayi trade might net us a 1st or 2nd rounder then you are by default trying to make tbaum look like a genius. And no I don't only like hof players. I love william Hayes, he is no hall of famer but he is damn solid, our 2nd best de in my opinion with a modest contract and didn't cost us a 1st round pick. You will never see me complain about him, however you will see me complain about Andre branch who has a fat overpaid contract and is not even as good as Hayes, or Charles Harris who cost us a first round pick and is not as good as Hayes either. You don't see me complaining about Chase Allen, or Vincent Taylor, or cam wake, or Reshad Jones, or cord tankersely, or Kenny stills, or Jay ajayi, or Kenyan drake, or Anthony fasano, or jawan James, or Jarvis Landry, or Davon godchaux, or bobby mccain. None of these guys with the exception of wake are potential hall of famers, yet I like them and praise them because they are good players, they are not overpaid or overrated. I only criticize players who are truly not playing well and not living up to their contract and/or draft status.
He posed a question to the board. Nothing to get worked up over. You're the one who made the knee jerk reaction with the left field assertation and spun it into something it wasn't.
The older you get the more 6's start to look like 8's. I have to leave a pair of reading glasses everywhere now, by the computer, in the kitchen, bedside, and next to the toilet of course.
