    It's possible Edds really looks up to Zach Thomas and picked the number in honor of Thomas. A lot of players do this. Someone pointed out that Edds also chose this number for the Senior Bowl.

    Why isn't everyone up in arms that Brian Johnston is wearing Dwight Stephenson's number? Stephenson is arguably the best center to ever play the game.
