To sum up, Drew said he represents Bradshaw, Bradshaw is training in Miami and if the Dolphins are interested, "we're interested back".

He probably returns to NYG before the 72-hour window expires. But that's a player that makes sense for us if he does make it to UFA.

Eh, does not even count as a rumor so won't add it to the list.

Drew R simply is talking up his client, what Bradshaw, or any Fa wants is $$$$$$$$$

    This is a significant development.

In a free agency that is going to happen as quickly and chaotically as this one, the feelings of where the client/agent want to end up matter a lot. Normally I'd say it's just Chad OchoCinco saying for the umpteenth time that he wants to be a Miami Dolphin, shortly before flying to another city and saying he wants to play for them, and so on. But this free agency is going to be the ultimate game of musical chairs. Bradshaw is training in Miami, and both he and his agent are thinking of Miami. That will go a long way in striking the kind of quick deals you're going to have to strike in this free agency where there are like 450 players set to be free agents and they'll all have about a week to sign where they're going to sign before they start missing significant training camp time.

Fill in the name of the team who offers the most guaranteed money. Same as 99% IMO of free agents.

Yeah, he's got a bunch of pins in one of his feet. That would be a bit of a concern for me.

Why not? He's got a good, compact build and has been durable his entire career.

In that vein, David Canter made a good point this morning.

He noted that with the abbreviated nature of this year's free agency, there's probably not going to be a lot of wooing and courtship. He expects it to be more, "Hey, we've got a need and we like you in that spot." If things don't progress right away, the team just moves on to their next guy.

John Clayton made a really solid point about that, in his view we will see more combo deals, when an agent reps two players they can negotiate for both of them at the same time with the same team, for example Joel Segal is Pouncey's agent, if he has say, Brandon Jackson as well, it would make sense and save time for that to happen.

Imo we see a tiered market with the top names flying off of the board in the first couple of days, then the second tier guys, then there will be the players who have to settle for a deal.

What really complicates this is the UDFA situation and Tier 3 players, you have to give the UDFa guys a shot THEN if they are not doing well the T3 guys become more attractive.

I like Jerome Harrison in the Bradshaw role, makes sense and would not eat all of the free cap space.

He developed cracks on identical bones on both feet, which required screws to be inserted into both.

He's also had surgeries on both of his ankles the past two off-seasons.

Now, I love the way he plays. He's the type of RB I like. But he runs bow-legged. And considering the nature of his injuries, I believe that those injuries are caused by his bow-legged running. I think its something that will be an issue his entire career.

in my excitement, I forgot about the type and cause of his injuries, I think this decision comes down to the doctors.

Bush, Williams, and Bradshaw all have an injury history so once again, I hope our doctors make the right decision.

Isn't it amazing that this franchise is based in a city that everyone wants to live in, but is run by people who want nothing to do with the players who want to be here?

Jeff Ireland thought Pat Riley was crazy, I'm sure.

With Michael Bush off the table I suppose I'd prefer DeAngelo Williams, Ahmad Bradshaw or Brandon Jackson. I like Darren Sproles a bit but he has to be your punt return guy and just a guy for gimmick runs and catches out of the backfield. I expect him to be cheaper than Reggie Bush but I probably like him more than Reggie.

The thing is, he was able to play effectively with those injuries. But thats when he was playing for a new contract. Once he gets paid, is he still going to practice and play through those injuries?

We have our choice of any free agent we want, because Miami is one of the best cities in the country to live. Instead, we're likely getting ready to sign a few UDFAs and a couple of cheap filler guys.

At a time when the team should be preparing a huge offer in case Peyton Manning actually does hit free agency, we're targeting… Adam Froman.

People get too caught up in that stuff. He played in all 16 games this year, played in 15 games 2008 and 2009. He played in 12 games in 2007 and that was probably just because as a 7th rounder they didn't start to get a sense for the kind of player they had until some time in 2008 or 2009.

We're not talking about giving the man 350 carries here, I think it's well understood that Daniel Thomas is going to claim his share.

Not sure I follow you Des? Last year we went out and got one of the hottest FA's available in Dansby, and then went and traded for one of the other hottest available players in Marshall. You are acting like this team does not make big splashes?

I do worry that they'll spend too many resources on the gimmick player in their search for big plays. So as much as I like Sproles, I would bow out if the bidding got too high. I have heard rumors that he's at the top of several team's wish list. I do think he's capable of taking some conventional carries, but I wouldn't feel confident with him as the starter. And that's something I like in my COP backs.

    Correct.

By virtue of the city he works in, Jeff Ireland has a huge advantage in his ability to attract free agents. Miami is a city custom-tailored for young, rich athletes. But Ireland does not like the sort of players who would appreciate what Miami has to offer, so that built-in advantage goes to waste.

If Jeff Ireland were running the Heat, there would be no Big Three.

Give'em a chance, they signed Dansby and Marshall in one year to top contracts..I expect 2 very nice additions..no comment on Manning..A good GM lives in real life, not dreamland.

Don't mistake me. I'm not really bashing Ireland. I like him as a GM. I simply think he's not sufficiently aggressive.

Marshall was a trade, Dansby is the only FA of his kind that we've signed. Our big acquisitions prior to Dansby were one-and-done offensive linemen and re-signing our own guys, like Channing Crowder and Vernon Carey, who this forum now complains about.

I don't agree with building this team with that philosophy, quite frankly I think you have to go in the opposite direction..I came to the conclusion a long time ago, and have said it many times on this board..''Its gonna take a certain type of player, that can play in this town, and in that stadium...translation..A very self motivated, disiplined man who lives and breathes football..

I don't wanna go your route Des, for the exact reasons that your criticizing this FO for.

I don't think we will end up with Bradshaw, although he would be a VG addition. Few consider his blocking, and it is as good as it gets. Consider that for keeping pressure of Henne, keeping fewer extra blockers in, and allowing Fasano to be more of a receiver.
