Anyone else but me remember that when Joe Robbie was building Sun Life, that the construction company dug up remnants of an old Native-American burial ground. At the time, Seminole tribe members said, don't move those that are buried, build it somewhere else or you will never win a championship there. They removed the burial ground off the land. Maybe it was a real curse.............
Ugghhhhh..... I was gonna say..."Well the Miami Hurricanes have won a championship there"...but Robbie owned the Phins. And..the Florida Marlins have won two there...one with WH...who owned the Phins.... Whyd you have to bring this up.....lol.
The Hurricanes have won an Orange Bowl (against FSU before Miami was in the ACC, 2004 I believe), but have not won a National Championship there. The last one we won was in 2001 against Nebraska in the Rose Bowl. And yes the Marlins have won twice, but I believe that curse was directed at Joe Robbie and his team. There was no other professional team in town when Sun Life was built. The Heat started play in year 2 of Sun Life Stadium's life.
Why ? Because whenever bad luck happens to the Dolphins, which it inevitably does every year, I remember this curse and silently cry inside, almost feeling like a Cubs fan, knowing its our fate.
