Another season, another terrible year for our linebacker play. This unit along with offensive line has been what has dogged us for years and we never seem to figure out how to fix it.

Our linebackers can't cover worth a crap, they are bad tacklers and only average against the run.

The one lone bright spot this year is that we managed to find Chase Allen as an UDFA player. He has been impressive all year long and right now is rated as our best linebacker by PFF.

BTW what a genius move it was to pass on Zach Brown hey? The guy is having another great season with the Redskins and would have come a lot cheaper than extending kiko and signing Timmons, both of whom he is out playing btw. In fact we could have extended kiko, signed timmons, and also signed zach, but no tbaum in his genius decided to pass and sign an injured Koa Misi instead who has been out two straight years now.

it was a dismal offseason. I hope coaches and front office are honest with themselves and fix these issues

No actually, if you watch the games you would notice that Chase has been solid. Although he doesn't have as many snaps as Timmons and kiko, his number of mistakes and production per snap is a lot better.

He has been solid whenever he has played, has not been beaten in coverage, has not missed tackles, is always good at his gap assignment and good at beating blocks.

kiko on the other hand misses numerous tackles, does not have good gap discipline, and is repeatedly burned and caught out of position in coverage.

Timmons has also been missing tackles and having trouble beating blocks. He is slowing down and lost a step which is exactly why I wasn't thrilled when we signed him in the off-season when there were younger more promising and cheaper linebackers available.
