Some may think we have enough to worry about now, and looking to 2011 is silly. However, Tuna, Ireland, and all other GM's do consider players and contracts for the following season when making decisions on this year. Ronnie, Ricky, Polite, Fasano, Soliai, McDaniel, and our kickers will be UFA. Then there is the 2011 FA market. If there is football, there will be a salary cap. All of the great young talent, who are not UFA this year, will be next year. In addition, so will all of the great young talent from next year. Clayton, from ESPN, guesstimates that there could be 500 UFA in 2011. Players getting HUGE contracts now, would not be getting close to as much next season. For me, that is a lot of food for thought as to what we spend on who this year.
Assuming we don't go into a lockout. From how it sounds unless the player change their attitude, the Owners are more than willing to go there. Really trying to just forget about that for the next year... I have a feeling it's going to be a burning hot topic though in about 9 months or so
