That's the same thinking that got us in this pickle to begin with. The good teams develop QBs.

Didn't everyone learn their lesson with Pat White? I'm ready to move away from this QB specialist stuff. There are no guarantees after three games that Tebow can make a career out of playing like this. Plus eventually like everything else that is some form of left of center offensive style teams will start to figure him out and it will no longer work. I'm not willing to see them invest time into this guy.
If he was all that Denver would hang on for dear life for him. That is not the case.

Pat White was a bad NFL player. I don't think he would have scored 7 touchdowns in 10 goal line tries with the Broncos last year.

Asking "hasn't everyone learned their lesson from Pat White?" is like asking why we haven't learned our lesson from Ted Ginn that speed receivers are terrible football players. There are plenty of speed receivers (DeSean Jackson, Mike Wallace, Jeremy Maclin) that are better football players than Ted Ginn ever was or will be, and on that basis we hope that Edmond Gates will be a lot better than Ginn was as well.

I seriously don't think it would have taken four attempts within the 5 yard line in last week's game against Carolina for Tebow to have scored a touchdown. And that would be without Tebow practicing once with the Dolphins, but just on pure athleticism and his desire to get the ball in the endzone.

Would I want Tebow to be our future QB...of that I do not know...probably not. But would I like the Dolphins to have the option of giving the ball to Tebow on 3rd and 1 or goal line situations? Absolutely. It's actually a joke not to think that would be an improvement for the Dolphins.

I'm not one to buy into the whole Tebow mysticism, but I think you're 100% right. If there's one thing that mofo can do, it's pound it into the end zone from near the goal line. And you would HAVE to install single-wing/option elements into the plays, or you're just wasting your resources. If he's not pounding it into the end zone, then he'll be tossing some crazy jump pass. And unlike when Ricky Williams tries it, I doubt it's going to be intercepted.

Yeah I just see this as a no-brainer. The questionable aspect of it is price. But Phil Merling? A guy I'd probably cut anyway? Or even a 5th round pick, who gives a ****, really?
