Passing stats are generally a lot better when the QB plays with a lead than when they try to come from behind. Mahomes' career rating is 109.6 when the final margin of victory is 15+ points while it's 98.7 when the final margin is 0-7 points.

In other words, the less the QB has to risk, the better they tend to perform. Yet Mahomes only put up a 83.6 rating. That's pathetic by his standards, and puts Tua's 63.9 in an important context: it wasn't easy to do well in those conditions even for an all-time great QB in his prime.

Part of the issue is Tua can't and won't beat you with his legs. Majority of the QB's in the playoffs can and will. So, if the OL breaks down they can take off and get you a first down regardless. We don't have that currently.

You mean Tua's not perfect. Noted. But many SBs have been won by accurate pocket passers with quick releases: Brady, Peyton and Brees come to mind. So the solution here is to build a better OL, not to replace the QBs.

    SO Cal
I'm closing this thread as the Dolphins no longer have a shot at the playoff this year.
