I'm surprised as hell in the 49ers play today. They should have been out of this but Arizona shot themselves in the foot umpteen times. Singletary has these guys playing tough like Haslett does in St. Louis. Man if Gore doesn't fall right there....
Yeah, hes got them fired up and playing hard. Haslett laid an egg against the Jets this week though, that was pretty damn sour. On a side note, my TV just cut out. Damn ****ty *** sattelite in the rain!
What a absolutely terrible call. A terrible call. An offensive line that struggles a lot and they ask them to stand up against the Cardinals front seven who has played very well this year? Just terrible IMO.
That is why Mike Singletary will not be a NFL head coach. Runing it in with Michael Robinson. Wow you spike it and draw up a play you dont run it with MICHAEL ROBINSON!
its painful to watch the postgame press conference with mike singletary. He's literally in tears. This is the type of guy that will have that team playing well. I think he's going to be a great coach.
It will be a challenge for him. He needs to relay his passion and commitment and intensity to his players without coming off as an *** and a jerk. If he can maintain the line, I think he will be OK, if he blurs or crosses it to much he could lose a team in a hurry. I wish him luck!
Did you see him hugging Vernon Davis? Remember, he sent him packing to the locker room not too long ago, and it didn't seem like Davis had any hard feelings about it. I think he will be ok, he got his players to respond today. That looked like a completely different team out there. We have to play them mid-December, and that looks as though its going to be a really tough game.
He will learn accountability and what to and what not to say to the press. He told Martz he wanted to be a power running team, and Martz complied. Gore prob should have done that last play. But I also think they shouldn't have done that play anyways. They were in the game throughout though, good game. Mike being the headcoach makes me like them automatically, he was a childhood favorite of mine and I love his attitude.
I'm sorry but I will have to disagree. I believe Mike will be a good HC. I didn't watch the PC yesterday but today on the, "Mike Singletary Show.", Mike admitted it was his fault. He said Martz made the call but the blame lies on the HC. He even admitted it was his fault, Hill took so long to spike the ball. When I saw Hill taking his jollyful time, I was like dude, spike the daym f'n ball. Mike said they should of practiced what you do when you are in that situation but they didn't, so the blame lies with him. Mike is a player coach, he was giving props, hugs and pats to players from the O & D and to the coaches. Nolan never did that. Davis situation is blown way out of proportion. I agree. Being in Niners & Raiders country you hear a lot about them and from all the interviews Mike interview I have heard on the way and back from work. Makes me believe Mike is learning from each game. We all know Mike is a very emotional guy and as a HC, he needs to think before he speaks and don't let his emotion speak for him. Martz doesn't seem to think of plays ahead and he tends to not use his playmakers at the right time. Gore should of had those carries in the end or do a QB rollout. No way, you use your FB on a FB dive there. I'm starting to believe coaches outsmart themselves now a days. You have to give the ball to your playmakers and Robinson isn't one. What did I learn? The only difference between Hill & JT is Hill doesn't get sack a lot but both makes bonehead decisions in turning the ball over at key times. I literally LOL, when I watched the Favre like shovel pass near the end. WTF are you thinking?
100% agree with you on the Singletary comments, fins408. On that shovel pass, from my understanding, it was a confusion between Gore and Hill.. Gore was underneath waiting for the ball and as Hill took off to shovel it, Gore turned around to block, thinking Hill was going to run.
yeap, you are correct on the shovel pass. I heard the clarification on the radio coming back from lunch. the person on the radio said it was gore's fault, he should of been where the ball was at, something like that. i stand corrected on Martz too. The coaches thought the ball was on the 1 and didnt know the refs moved it back to the 2.5 yd. Martz said, he takes the blame for Hill taking so long to spike the ball and for the FB dive that ended the game. he said, if he knew the ball was moved back to the 2.5 yd, he would of never called the FB dive play. with that said, i still think he outsmarted himself instead of the cards. on key situations like that, you have to put the ball in the hands of your playmaker and give him a chance to win the game for you not some unknown FB.
