This may be a stupid question but is it possible to copy files from my red ring 360 hard drive to my new Elite 360 by swapping the hard drives?

I'm not going to mess anything up right?

Copy by swapping the hard drives?

You can physically switch the HDs if you want.

If you have the right cd and cable you can copy from one hard drive to another one time.

Yeah, physically swap is what I meant.

It won't let me copy though to my memory card.

From what I've heard you could have just bought an arcade 360 and put your old hard drive in it.

From what I've been told you need a data transfer cable to do a one time swap as I don't think you'll be able to take all downloadable content to your new HDD.

Best to check the xbox site http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/console/datamigration.htm
