What’s there to talk about? Im sure once the draft happens it’ll pick up some. Even the draft thread is hard to follow. Regurgitating bs talk
There's been some interesting FA moves so far. I'm guessing the others will come after the draft. Always willing to chat trades if anyone is interested. Looking for some 1st and 2nd rnd picks in the upcoming draft and willing to move my 1st next year along with players to get some. If you're interested in wheeling and dealing, let me know.
At this point, how many players really had their value improve much by changing teams this offseason? Not a lot.
I’d say Darnold did, at least. Maybe James Connor. Golladay, Hunter Henry, Jonuu Smith, Gerald Everett, and Jared Cook all made potentially big moves in FA.
I would actually move the needle down for the players that went to New England. They don't have a QB, and that could be another mess. On Darnold, we shall see. I like him and his potential, but that franchise has always been a mess with the passing game, and I don't trust their coach or his scheme.
Brady may be the best OC in the game. Look at what Burrow was before he got a hold of him. And now he has DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, and CMC to compliment him. The New England guys could definitely be interesting but Big Bill has always loved using multiple TEs and Cam was good before Covid slowed him. And a TE is exactly the weapon he needs to balance his runs, especially at the goal line.
I’m usually not either but he was with the Saints for 2 years before going to LsU, Burrow was an average Joe before Brady for a hold of him, and he made Bridgewater relevant again without CMc last year, having 3 WRs to over 1k yards each. Hard to ignore and discount that. And all of this is not even mentioning the fact that if nothing else he’s away from Adam Gase, whom I’m pretty sure is a worse QB coach than any of us lol
1 week to go to Draft Day for the NFL! Excited to see how this pans out and what my Atlanta Falcons do holding the key to the draft, basically. Exciting!
As far as this league goes, I certainly have an interest in Atlanta, seeing as Matt Ryan is my starting QB and Calvin Ridley is my #1 WR.
I got real interest in seeing what a handful of teams do...Raiders, Titans, Browns, Tampa, Dallas, Jacksonville etc. I guess I like to get good players from every team lol.
It's a very intriguing draft all around. Does Denver go QB and begin the move away from Lock? What do the Patriots do and do they buck their trend and trade up? Do the WRs get paired with their college teammates in Chase and Smith? Do the Packers finally add an offensive piece around Rodgers in his last year in Green Bay? Should be a lot of fun over the first 2-3 rounds.
Denver hasn’t taken a round 1 QB in 61 years (Elway was a trade) so they’re either due or hate QB’s. Hopefully not on the WR’s, as I’ve said in club I don’t want a WR at 6. NE needs to keep being mediocre. And GB definitely needs another WR/weapon of some kind.
OOPS! Tommy Maddox too, in 1992. Forgot he was with Denver at first. I remember how he was only 20 at the start of the season and Elway said he couldn't even buy him a beer. EDIT: I also seemed to have blocked out the fact that Tim Tebow was a first round pick by Denver also. I think we're all better pretending that didn't happen, lol. EDIT 2: Also, Paxton Lynch, lol. (You've inspired me to go through all of the 1st round QBs since 1970, because that's the kind of wild thing I get into on a Friday night)
Lol guess that will teach me to stop quoting stats from NFL Network. I expect that kind of silliness from espn.
The league's own network made that big of a mistake? Can I get a job working on facts like this for them? LOL
Anyone want to make any pre-draft Predictions as to what the first few picks in the Rookie Draft in the Summer will look like? If Miami take Harris at #18, will he be the first overall pick in our draft? How high does Pitts go?
Well, its not really making a prediction if I tell you what my plans are, lol! However, I'll say that who I would pick will be highly influenced by where they are taken in the real draft. If things go a certain way, then I will refuse all trade offers and pick my guy no matter what. If they don't, then I'll be open to listening if anyone wants to trade for the #1 pick.
Talking strictly NFL Draft, I think there are definitely spots that could help certain prospects. Any of the RBs in Buffalo....probably a downgrade. WRs are all probably safe, but might get slight bumps if they team up with past systems/QBs(ie, Chase in Cincy/Carolina, Smith with Tua, etc). TEs will be interesting to watch, but Pitts is going to be at least decent wherever he goes more than likely. I still feel he's more of a WR than a TE, though, in the NFL. He's not going to be on the line very much at all....every other good TE in the league has him outweighed and are shorter so it will be interesting to see how Pitts changes with probably 20+ more pounds on him if he's going to stay at TE. I don't think he sticks, personally, but doesn't mean he's not worth the pick either. The QB question will all depend on patience and if they're going to be pushed into duty from the start or sit for a year or two. Atlanta drafts a QB and they will sit for 1-2 years. Same with Carolina....and maybe Denver/NE as well. Jags, Jets, and probably SF are the only guaranteed starting spots for QBs this year. Excited for the draft and always looking to add a pick or two / move up / etc. I have picks 2.8, 2.9, and 3.12 plus willing to move some of my stars if anyone is interested. Glad to see this thing kick back up!
The definitely could be accurate. I'd offer that the 3rd RB may drop a spot or two depending on team need / etc. Will be interesting to see how teams value RBs 3-8 really. and then the WRs after 3. Gonna be fun. Very few folks off guard on my team. See something that interests you, let me know and we will see if we can work something out!
Since those of us who are here year round have been checking in this week, do we want to check in with the other half of the league that hasn't, and make sure that everyone is still on board for next season?
OK, so if anyone is interested in making offers for the #1 pick, its up for sale. I have less than zero interest in players who aren't starters, or guys on the back end of their career.
Anyone interested in any of the following let me know. Looking for a pick/s as the primary part of the return. Thanks! Ezekiel Elliott, Julio Jones, Corey Davis, Lazard, Cohen, Jarwin, Patrick, Mike Davis, etc.
