Actually I think the Dolphins GM has the hardest job because we're all a lot more critical of them. I can only recall 1 Dolphins GM winning in the 5 years Ive done this. I won it as the Steelers, Van won it as the Texans last year, etc.

yeah I think having the Dolphins is definitely a crutch. Sure, you can trade Dolphin players to other teams for more than fair market value (who would do such a thing? :shifty:) But, you'd better knock it out of the park with all those extra resources.

Have fun with building a team the way YOU want to build it, it's not worth tip toeing around other GMs because they will hold anything you say against you from a voting standpoint. If you build a team you can be proud of who cares what anyone else thinks.

    Unless those names are..

    Aaron Rodgers
    Eddie Lacy
    Larry Warford
    Demaryus Thomas
    Ndamukong Suh
    Aldon Smith

Then you may end up in 5th or something. :tantrum:

Probably because you had like 35-40 players under contract iirc.

TBH my final presentation was lacking, I was in a big poker tournament that weekend and was swamped with reg work and side work (shut up) I didn't even attach my draft class to my final roster so I'm sure it looked a little empty.

While I doubt voters counted my players then declared my team 5th, I only have myself to blame for the lack of thoroughness the final couple of weeks, in which case I may have won it. If my name wasn't Fin-Omenal ofcourse.

I've only done this two seasons, but have found that this is the way to go. Other GMs are going to weigh various factors differently when it comes time to voting. But if you are active and balanced -- create a team that you think is good through all methods (trade, draft, FA) -- then you will be in the running when voting comes around.

Story of my sports viewing life...well, not counting OSU ofcourse.

Speaking of "always next year" those pesky Knicks and Langston are going to make it hard to land Okafor.

I won it all last year as a 2nd year GM and I know a lot of the old timers look at the way I do things and scoff, but it works for me. I completely dismantle teams and make them in the image I want which tends to include trading the bigger names on the teams which some guys frown on. However, you look at both my teams and you can't say I didn't make them significantly better. Just make the moves you want and don't let people force you into moves.

You want to trade away your draft for players to build an already solid team...do it. Want to trade away your players and go mostly draft. Do it. Clear away players for cap room. Do it. There really is no wrong answer around here outside of making a really lopsided trade.

Can you clarify the June 1 cuts? The dead money is different on OTC for Pre June 1 and post June 1 cuts, which number are we using to divide in half? Some big differences out there.

Dead money in real life functions differently than dead money for the game because real life takes prorated money except for the current year and pushes it to the following year.

So you'll take the pre June 1 and divide that in half.

GIK if cut free agency is the 23rd...what day do we have to be cap compliant?

March 2 is when you must be under the cap.

If you wish to bid on cut players, you must be under the cap before placing a bid.

Ok.....I'm going to have to re-think Dez's tag situation then about going back to Exclusive. Can't be starting any form of free agency while having an open tender out there that may turn into a cap battle........especially with compliance happening right after it.

I have removed the deadline to allocate post June 1 releases. You may use these allocations (two per team for players originally on your roster) at any time.

Because the original team is not allowed to bid on their post-June 1 allocations, I decided that a deadline is unnecessary.
