Gimme a break. It was a league that awarded as many points for return yards as it did receiving!
Newsflash- Jacoby Ford was an elite return man at the time. In his final 8 games of 2010 he amassed 1453 yards, 7 TDs, and 21 receptions.... for a total of 197.8 points. That's 35 more points more than Brandon Marshall had his entire season!! LOL, yeah but the trade was silly and veto-worthy.

    Ford's final 8 game avg of 2010: 24.7 pts
    Brandon Marshall's 2011 avg: 12.6 [11.6 in 2010]

    Arian Foster's 2011 avg: 22.4
    Rob Gronkowski's 2011 avg: 18.5
    LeSean McCoy 2011 avg: 21.9
    Ray Rice's 2011 avg: 21.8
Darren Sproles 2011 avg: 23.9 [Sproles was the #1 RB/WR/TE in the league]

    Calvin Johnson's 2011 avg: 20.5

    Ford's 2010 season: 245.0 pts
    Marshall's 2010 season: 162.7

    :omg:

Contrary to your statement, it was Ford's upside that was the greatest at the time in your league [as you can see above], not Marshall's. It was Ford who scored more points the year prior [83 of them]. It was Ford who was as a WR1 the year prior while Marshall was a weak Flex play, and Marshall had done nothing in 2011 to change that when I was trading him. Yet you still vetoed it. Then 2 days later Ford went for 5 catches, 144 total yards, and a TD [23.9 pts]. The fact you call the trade "silly" is patently absurd. Not to mention you specifically cited the HAMSTRING ISSUE Ford had earlier in the season as part of your reason for the veto even though Jacoby was healthy at the time of trade, yet here you are now pulling a 180 with Foster by arguing the exact opposite- that his season ending back surgery and recurring hamstring issues don't mean jack.

Exactly. If AP of all people take a hit in value during the prime of his career following a season ending injury, then everyone takes a hit. Find me a back who hasn't.

Yet here Arian Foster is, coming off a season-ending back injury and subsequent surgery, can't shake preseason hamstring issues, and clearly isn't the freak of nature that AP is, but Boik is still trying to sell him as though he's the same player from 2012 despite not playing so much as a preseason snap yet to back it up. Even if he physically gets back to 100%, he still has to show he's mentally 100% and is as committed as before- that he runs just as hard, just as decisive, etc. For f*** sake it was a hot topic that Foster contemplated retiring after his injury. But we're supposed to ignore all of it and value Foster equal to Lacy just b/c Boik tells us to? No thank you.
The sad part is Matt wants to believe this could only be some sort of irrational, hateful attempt to stick it to him. I looked up all the expert ratings, ADP's, and so forth not to argue against his trade, but b/c I was hoping to find a reason to rationalize it since the last thing I wanna do is veto a friend's trade.

Fact is, the league continues to grow against running backs. Between the rabid growth of the passing game, and more and more giant freaks like Poe or Clowney getting in the league, those little guys cant take the beating like they used to.

Speaking on the Martin Patterson trade... it just came down to his depth at RB and my depth at WR and draft picks vs Thomas to balance it out. Both teams came out better with the trade but with equal risk on Martin staying healthy and producing in that "RBBC" behind a guardless line, and him being able to turn his mass of draft picks next year into something additionally productive to his squad.

The only problem I saw with the Lacy vs Foster trade was the long term risk/reward was disproportionate with the added draft value. Honestly, Bigs team without Lacy is relying on Gore who is foreseeably at the end of his productive career.. and he already got kicked in the nuts with Blackmon. Wouldn't want to see Bigs team turn into Todds team. Honestly, if the draft comp was reversed I think it would have been on the edge of fair. But the veto is there for players to voice their opinion and it wasn't just one or two opinions.. and that's what it came down to for me. If that opinion of the veto bites me in the *** and people disapprove of the current trade, then that's their opinion... **** happens.

If the argument that you are saying is that Foster will become fully productive again, then just make it a conditional pick that would curve public opinion of the value of the trade... JMHO.

IMO, the league going against running backs only serves to increase RB value since they're harder to come by, especially decent ones or 3-down backs.

Agree with the rest. A conditional pick would be significantly more fair when dealing with an unknown, similar to the 2nd rounder that could become a 1st in Christine Michael's case. In Big's case, if Foster has a down year b/c of his injury and then subsequently retires like he pondered last year, he's left completely screwed at RB. IMO there should be a high enough draft pick involved on Boik's end so that he incurs some of the risk should Foster fade away b/c Bigs shouldn't shoulder it all.

I'd consider moving an RB for a 2016 1st..... or maybe a duo of RBs- Khiry Robinson & Joique Bell. Robinson has 1st round potential all by himself in a dynasty league as he becomes the top dog in New Orleans next year.

Hmph, so I'm not sure whether or not I wanna keep Melvin Gordon or do a sign and trade. I think my backfield is pretty loaded as it is, but then again, if Gordon brings the possibility of becoming my top back and a potential RB#1, then he might be better to keep. Tough decision. I should probably wait until after the draft to declare Gordon the pick in case Gurley lands on a team that has him primed for a monster career.

That Martin for Patterson deal looks like a lose lose for both parties and Ertz and Ball being gigantic busts doesn't help. Ugh I SHOULD HAVE DEALT THOSE GUYS!

LOL, and you went from TE strong to TE questionable overnight. At RB at least you have Hyde and the promising Latavius Murray moving forward, plus 2 1st and 2 2nd rounders next year. Your backfield should be replenished quickly provided you don't f*** it up. lol. Will be a nice bonus too if Philly re-signs Maclin.

I wish I could've loaded up at WR this year in a WR heavy draft but I wanted to make sure I got RB squared away with how volatile the position is. Sucks that I won't be able to gobble up project FAs again next year now that my roster is filled out with them. That was kinda fun. Initially I wanted to inherit Shake & Bate's loaded roster, but now I'm glad I went with a dumpster team that required a complete makeover. The challenge is enjoyable, although it did a number on my overall Yahoo record. However, I do wish I had at least inherited one elite player, and I hated having to trade the #2 pick [Mike Evans] just to make sure I'd have a starting QB.

Looking at my roster now, if the Chargers don't re-sign Ryan Matthews, there's a chance I could end up with 9 starting RBs next year.
    Melvin Gordon / Gurley
    Christine Michael
    Isaiah Crowell
    Khiry Robinson
    Joique Bell
    Jeremy Hill
    Jerick McKinnon
    Bryce Brown
    Branden Oliver
... with Theo Riddick likely replacing Reggie Bush
..... and with Knile Davis added to the RB1 list the moment Charles' time is up

I know I goofed pretty hard. I was hoping the "experts" were going to be right about Ertz and Ball its why I dealt Thomas and Cameron and said no to any offer involving Ball. I almost dealt Maclin! Holy **** that would've been bad.

Dude you're absolutely LOADED at RB. You killed it in the draft and FA.

You should have dealt me ertz when I was clamoring for him. Thanks though. You're a real friend for saving me from that horrible mistake. My teams in ok shape for next year but I've got 2 1's as well thanks to the Vincent Jackson deal. Very possible both my picks will be top 5, and two in the top 3 still isn't out of reach.

If anyone needs a qb I think I'm pretty qb loaded with cutler and romo as well as two stud qbs IMO Osweiler and Logan Thomas.

With Indy seemingly capable of finding good receivers without using high picks [Hilton & Moncrief both in round 3], I wonder if they'd use another 1st on a running back to finally get it done right since they apparently covet the position enough to waste a 1st on T Rich, especially with Pagano being a defensive-minded HC who might confidently believe that he and Manusky can get more defensive production from less. What if they're drooling over adding Gordon or Gurley to Luck's high-powered offense in hopes of pushing it through the stratosphere? That would be HUGE in dynasty league, no.
