Ziggy makes enough impact in other phases of the game (including batting passes) that I'd have no problem with him initially needing a little time to develop technique. It's not like he's a liability out there, even at this stage of his game. I bet Ziggy tallies at least 6 sacks, 1 or 2 FFs, and 5+ PDs as a rookie on talent alone.

Just from guys in this game, I'd be most intrigued by Alex Okafor at the #12 pick.

I was getting ready to praise Warford then goes and gets abused by Alen's boy, Short.

Warford's like a British Guard in protection. Not moving his *** anywhere.

Vince Williams lets you know when he's arrived at a tackle. He's pretty sudden. Robert Lester with a good drive on the ball in coverage there.

He ain't played in the game from what I could tell. Funny that the Texas players are on the North. Ain't seen Dobson on the field either.

I agree, but not at 12. He's not Jason Pierre-Paul, he's Israel Idonije. Explosive athlete that doesn't have a feel for pass rush and isn't effective at creating that way. Even that sack-strip just now was a second chance motor opportunity created by Nassib scrambling to Ansah's side.

That's how JPP gets much of his sacks. Just sayin.
In the meantime Ziggy can use that explosive athleticism to make an impact in general while he's developing his pass-rush reportoire. He's not gonna have a non-feel for pass rusher forever. It's already improved just this week alone now that he's getting more reps/coaching working outside.

Goodwin doesn't quite have Jacoby Ford's speed. Close, but not quite there IMO.
Jacoby pulls away downfield like no one I've seen recently. Darryl Green caliber top end speed.

How has Bama's Michael Williams's blocking been this week? As dominant as it looked during the season?

That's the first I've heard of it, but if there's any truth to it I'd certainly be interested in knowing.
His on-field play (determination/high intensity/passion he seems to play with) doesn't strike me as the type of person who seems like a slacker.

Another sack by Ziggy. Against a different tackle. from the left side this time. Drives Pugh right back into the QB.

Nice route by Wheaton who's looked good today.

If that were a pit rep Pugh would've been declared the winner. Dysert pulled down the ball and ran straight forward to where Ansah could get him.

Note this drive. They're in the end zone. How did that happen? The reason you have pass rushers is in part to put away games with pass rush. Ziggy hasn't really had any though.

to which I'd reply, a sack is a sack, and I disagree about Pugh being declared the winner. Ziggy helped collapse the pocket from the left side and there's a reason Dysert pulled it down- Ansah's pressure.

Other linemen need to step up, as well as the defenders in coverage. Ansah can't be responsible for getting all the sacks/pressures and passes broken up on the drive.

ADDED: Ansah has played most of the game and has also been running up and down the field on special teams. It was obvious he was a little gassed the tail end of the last drive.

Nassib was moving to his left, away from Ansah's side, as he was coming from LDE. He got chipped by Otten, and Quessenberry couldn't slow him down. That was just a heck of a play. No two ways about it.

I'd give a pass on that comment. He never even put on football gear before 2010, plus he grew up in a country where our football is as foreign to 99% of the citizens as it gets.

The main thing Pugh showed in this game IMO is that he is a left guard, not a left tackle.

He runs around out there like his feet are on fire, or like he is killing snakes, whichever analogy one prefers.
