I know there is a world soccer thread, but I thought it might be a good idea to separate the home league. If not I’m sure this thread will die a swift death. I love the NBC commercial for the upcoming season, but that may just be because of the music. Never thought I see them used in advertising. I see you like the Timbers- they look like they have a great crowd when I watch on TV. I plan on catching some games in person when I move to Denver later this year. Until then I am checking out the Ft Lauderdale strikers... they play in the USSL I think? Not even sure what league it is lol. That being said, the quality of soccer in the MLS continues to impress me as it gets better and better.
Portland, Seattle and Vancouver have an advantage over the rest of the fan bases in MLS as our teams have been around since the 70's. We have fans that were raised as fans and have raised kids of their own as fans. Just got done watching the last preseason game for the Timbers, next week they start to count. First game is on ESPN2 (March 3rd) if anyone wants to see. Loving the new coaches style of play, and his aggressiveness. I don't see the Timbers playing for ties this year.
