I did this earlier in the year and got hammered for looking into the future, so NOW maybe some of you have relized that we aren't going to win the SB this year and can maybe enjoy this so here we go...

I just want to get somewhat of an idea of what this team will look like next year.

QB- Who ****ing knows, I think its safe to assume that Henne will be able to compete with someone better for the starter spot, I for one want Orton. But I would settle for a shot with V.Young, **** even D.Dixon. I think it all depends on what direction our OC wants to go. I think if we can land Gabbert he could be the next A.Rodgers.

RB- Again, Who the **** knows whats gonna happen here. R&R are probally gone, we might keep one, but I dont feel comfortable with either as our featured back unless Ronnie gets a fire lit under his ***. My plan would probally involve keeping Ronnie for cheap or going out and getting another back in FA(there are lots) as a big body type, and then draft J.Rodgers from Oregon St. I know some people like Noel Devine as a playmaker, But mark my word...RODGERS WILL BE 10X A BETTER RB THAN DEVINE IN THE NFL.

FB- Polite looks as if he is on his way out and I really wouldnt mind seeing Hillard carry the load at this position. Not only was he adequate in run blockig last year but he offers that element of being able to catch out of the backfield and maybe make a play. Could really improve our versatality.

WR- Hard to imagine but this is probally our best unit on the offensive side of the ball. Marshall/Bess/Hartline seem adequate especially considering there was a silverback gorilla calling plays last year. I wouldnt mind improvment in the 2nd wr spot over Hartline, someone that is more of a playmaker, but he would do. We have to add speed to this O so the addition of a speed man that can lift the lid of a D should be a priority this off-season. And if we could get the mini-beast Roberto Wallace into some more games maybe he could jump into the mix as well.

TE-Fasano is the Best #2 TE in the league. He can run block, pass block, and is more that adequate catching the ball. The problem is that he is our #1 TE. This position too is full of FA's and I expect the phins to target a "seam busting" type. If the Dolphins choose to upgrade via the draft then I would support the choice of D.J Williams from Arkansas, he is strong, faster, and a playmaker.

OL- We have the best LT in the league, an injured/aging above average RT, and a cluster**** in the middle....nedless to say, improvements are needed everywhere.

DL-The standout group of the year in my eyes. This position hold more depth then we can really handle and we will probally be losing one of our playmakers, probally McDaniels. But with Solai steppign up Big time, assuming they lock him up, we are stacked. Our DE's include Starks/Langford/Odrick/Merling/Mcdaniel?....with nearly all of these players being able to slide inside this make our Defensive alignments uncapped

LB- I know alot of people around here dont like CC52 but I do, sorry. I know he cant run the field but he is our emotional leader and until someone else steps up...he is needed. But we also have Dansby roaming the middle of the field and amazing Cam Wake comign off the edges. With the Misis hopefully improving on what was a good rookie season and the return of Edds this looks like a decent unit as well. Wouldnt mind bringing in a couple guys and seeing if we coud land another pass-rusher or MLB

DB- Young and exciting are our cornerbacks. I wasnt 3eally high on SS24(mostly bc of his lack of doing anything) but his play really improved this year and Vontae seems poised for another breakout year next fall. Chris Clemons got some mixed reviews this year but overall I think he did well enough to earn his spot next year. And I hope some of theseplayers show some leadership and smarts b/c the road is ending for Bell as I hope the Dolphins make the choise to have R.Jones replace Bell at SS some time in the future. And dont forget about Will allen...he is still on this team.

    QB-Henne
    RB-
    FB-Hillard
    WR-Marshall/HArtline/Bess/Wallace/Moore
    TE-Fasano
    LT-Long
    LG-
    C-
    RG-
    RT-

    DE-Langford/Odrick/Starks/Merling
    NT-Solai/Starks/Merling
    OLB-Wake/Misi/Alama-Francis
MLB-Dansby/Chrowder/Edds/where the **** is Micah Johnson
    CB-Davis/Smith/Allen
    FS-Clemons
    SS-Bell/Jones

This is just who I feel are the base of this team going into next year. Obviously offense needs work, and lots of it but there will be plenty of players out there, FA and draft, for us to improve from.

Dude, I think this is a pretty good assessment of our current position. I just posted a thread regarding a mock draft and I think you will see with regards to the first two picks that I agree with your OL comments. I also think Henne will be here next year and we will probably bring in a veteran QB to compete with him for the starting role.

R&R express will probably be gone as you said and I don't really have a problem with that, I have two RBs picked in the mock that I think have potential along with the return of Kory Sheets. I also picked up a couple WR that I think would be improvements over Wallace and Moore. Although, I would like to see Wallace succeed a little competition is never bad and I am still holding judgement on Hartline as I am not convinced he is starter material.

All-in-all, I think our D is solid and the return of Edds should be helpful to our LB corp. We should be able to make due with a FA addition or two. I think you are spot on about our TE situation and we should also look to FA in order to find a #1 TE to add to our roster, the draft is weak at this position.

QB- Orton is going to cost too much and Dixon/Young would be a tragedy in my opinion. The QB position in the draft went from looking great to looking meh. Luck going back to college, Mallett/Newton struggling in their BCS games, and now Blaine Gabbert is predicted to be one of the top 2-3 QBs taken? Ewww. That doesn't excite me at all. Let's stick with Henne for one more year, if he fails, then we can look at our options in the 2012 off season. But right now our other options at QB are awful.

RB- Quizz Rogers or Noel Devine would make me happy. But, only if we can get one of them in the 3rd or even 4th round. I have hopped on the spread offense bandwagon. Let Henne work in in the gun 30-35+ times a game and spread the field out with playmakers at both the RB and WR position. He has the arm to certainly do so.

FB- No thanks. Again, I say it. We give up on players way too easily. Polite wasn't as bad in run blocking as people say and he was still as close to a sure first down as you can get on 3rd/4th and short. 26 carries, 15 first downs, and 1 TD. I think he had like 8 carries or so outside of 3 yards for the first down or something. He is reliable and still one of the best FBs in the league.

WR- I want two playmakers through FA or the draft and I want one of them to be our #2. If that means we draft Julio Jones (if he falls) or pick up a guy like Vincent Jackson or maybe even Santana Moss. Then I want a guy that could be our #5 receiver, but still see a lot of action (ie. Jacoby Jones, James Jones, someone later in the draft, etc...)

    1. Marshall
    2. Julio Jones/Vincent Jackson/Santonio Holmes/Santana Moss/someone worthy of being a number 2
    3. Bess
    4. Hartline
    5. James Jones/Jacoby Jones/Sam Hurd?/Courtney Roby

    that would be scary.

RT- Obviously Vernon Carey hasn't been the most dominant offensive linemen the past few seasons, but he is better than any other option we have. Moving him inside would be dumb, Free Agency doesn't look too appealing for a RT, and neither does the draft. Also, I know a lot of you hate Carey, but can you really name me 5+ other RTs in the league that are better than him? Seriously. Kareem McKenzie, Ryan Harris, Tyson Clabo, maybe David Stewart? Can't really think of any others that blow my mind.

LB- Even though I wanted to look for an ILB this season to replace Crowder eventually, I kind of want to hold off one more year. I want to see what AJ Edds brings to the table before we go out and spend big money on another ILB. I would love to see Edds play well and earn a starting role, with Crowder and Dobbins as replacements.
