There seems to be quite a few mocks going up for the 2011 draft already and there are some pretty nice prospects too.

What do you think the Dolphins will be looking for come the end of this season?

Immediately I'd probably say running back, with Ricky Williams aging and if Ronnie Brown picks up an injury again this year. I know it would probably be pretty difficult, especially if we have a good year which I'm hoping for, but Mark Ingram will be the most impressive RB in this class without doubt.

Another guy who I really liked and seems to be topping most of the draft boards is WR AJ Green. This guy reminds me alot of Brandon Marshall, he seems to love contact and go for yards.

    What other prospects are there?

I would have to say as of now:

    Running Back
    Tight End
    Safety
    Nose tackle
    Linebacker

    In that order IMO.

Edit: I don't think we have a chance of drafting Ingram. I believe we will not be anywhere near the top 10 in the draft next year.

My guess is that our needs going into the next draft will be:

    FS
    TE
    RB.

IMO it's a little early to start assuming that we don't have any OLBs among the 14 on our roster.

Its a bit to early to assume anything about the 2011 draft really.

That said, Kyle Rudolph would be a good pickup unless Fasano or someone makes a leap.

Some solid safety prospects looking to go in the mid/late first.

If one of the big 4 WRs is available whenever we pick we would have to think hard about it. Marshall plus top rook plus Hartline would be some firepower.

I think it all depends on how next year goes but i would have to say OLB is probably still a need and the other ILB spot next to Karlos Dansby and assuming we let Ronnie Walk that will be a huge need for us and also TE will be a big need and i still think we need a WR oppsite of Brandon Marshall. If we can get Dont'a Hightower at somepoint in the draft if he comes out next year i think that would be a big pick up

Right now I would say in no particular order

    RB (franchise type)
    TE (seam buster)
    WR (speed)
WR (slot with more speed than Bess)
    OT (backup)
    C (backup)
    NT (traditional Bullough type)
WOLB (double digit sack artist who isnt as one dimensional as Wake)
ILB (to replace Crowder or Dobbins)
FS (If Clemons doesnt grab the job)
SS (If R Jones cant be counted on)

What happens to this years junior/seniors(2011), if there is a lock out??

Do they get mixed up into next years draft class(2012) as well....you are talking one ridiculously deep draft....

Like does the 2011 draft never happen?? assuming the lockout happens?

Is it too early to think about Mike Pouncey replacing Grove? :glare: No but seriously.

Or Wisniewski if he'll be happy playing C.

Building on one of our team strengths (dline), I'm looking heavy at NT for now b/c I really don't want any excuse for Starks having to stay at nose. This should be a major priority IMO until proven otherwise. We lost control of the middle in the 4th qtr, and we got pounded from it.

I think its the other way around. Ingram is a load but Richardson is special.

    I just don't want a RB in round 1.

    To each their own.

I don't see us taking a running back in the first round. Why would this management do that?

Why not? I can see Ronnie Brown walking and the Dolphins using a first round pick to replace him.

Doesn't make sense to me to take a running back in the first round, especially when we know he's unlikely to be a workhorse.

    Just my thoughts though.

I think we keep Ricky and Ronnie walks.

As for needs, we need a Safety, a bonafide Safety.

I suspect Te will be on the menu as well.
