This class is only a very average group of seniors. Junior DaJuan Morgan is the best of the bunch. His performance at the NFL Combine improved his stock.
This position will probably provide many middle round selections, with a few prospects who can develop into strong "in the box" defenders over time.

    1. * DaJuan Morgan, 6-0, 205, North Carolina State
This tough junior safety impressed at the NFL Combine and is one of the premier safety prospects – strong or free.

    2. Tyrell Johnson, 6-0, 205, Arkansas State
Johnson is tough and athletic and has been a dominant defender in the Sun Belt. He is a solid NFL prospect who had a strong overall performance in Indy.

    3. Josh Barrett, 6-2, 220, Arizona State
Physical prospect has been a force in the secondary when healthy. He had a monster performance at the NFL Combine that has him moving up the final rankings.

    4. D.J. Wolfe, 5-11, 200, Oklahoma
Wolfe, an athletic defensive back, took a major step up this season when moved inside to safety.

    5. Jamar Adams, 6-2, 210, Michigan
Adams is a big prospect who hits like a linebacker. However, he is another Michigan player that disappointed in workouts at the NFL Combine.

    6. Marcus Griffin, 5-10, 200, Texas
This potential middle-round pick has the talent to challenge for a starting role eventually if he improves his coverage skills.

    7. Nehemiah Warrick, 6-1, 210, Michigan State
Warrick combines of good range and speed with strong tackling skills. He will have to find a niche to earn a spot on an NFL roster. He could find a fit as a gunner on special teams.

    8. Dominique Barber, 6-0, 210, Minnesota
He fits the in-the-box safety role because of his sure tackling skills and his ability to make the big hit.

    9. Craig Steltz, 6-1, 210, LSU
The savvy Steltz displays fine instincts to get to the ball and finish with strong tackles.

Wow, the must not like Kenny Phillips at all.

I personally think Johnson is #1 and Morgan #2, but Phillips is #3.

Of course those could get adjusted depending on if you think Reggie Smith is a safety or CB.
