According to a rumor posted by FinNasty in the Club Level, Jason Ferguson is a rumored name. Remember, its a rumor.

A rumor started by some random guy who has a friend that is part of a message board. The list in all likelihood is complete BS.

Think about this for a minute. The report came out here in Denver. Just a thought here, but the Broncos were interested in trading for Ricky Williams last season, then he failed a drug test. Travis Henry got cut from the Broncos not too long ago and then he failed a test. Wonder if the Broncos have some inside scoop on this stuff?? Just throwing it out there.

A little disappointed in this Gish.

You are worried about Andre Johnson. Shouldnt you be more worried about anybody on the Dolphins? I guess that's why I really dont get the entire Fantasy thing. Not even in Madden...just me I guess

So, IF these guys are all positive, do they miss time? That would be a HUGE blow to the Saints. We have already seen how un-effective they tend to be with Duece..and Bush has a bum knee now also.

EDIT: Of course I meant WITHOUT Duece.

All players who failed any type of test given by the league are subject to 4 game suspensions. As of right now, the rumored list includes Jason Ferguson, Warrick Dunn and another ten or so guys.

Add Charles Grant to the Saints list. He, Deuce McAllister and Will Smith are all facing 4 game suspensions.

you dont get 4 games for testing positive.

that is strike 2 or 3

    strike 1 warning i think
    strike 2 is a 4 game fine
strike 3 is 4 game suspension
strike 4 is a year off
strike 5 is bye bye forever

    my mistake

The NFL policy for substance abuse says for a first violation, the NFL could fine and suspend a player without pay for up to four regular games or six games for a second violation.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they get a suspension right away. Peppers tested positive for a banned substance his rookie season and got suspended for the last 4 games even though it was a minor infraction mislabled in a supplement he was taking.

You do face an immediate (max, I think) of 4 game suspension. or maybe the four games is automatic. what I do know is that it is subject to appeals.

Yeah but I'd be surprised if they won the appeal. It is a banned substance and even if it is on the list, they took it.

Any news on how they were caught? What has changed to suddenly detect and catch them?

Mortensen just reported that Defensive End's Will Smith, Charles Grant, Running Back Deuce McAllister and Texans Long Snapper all tested positive for a weight loss pill I believe and they will likely be receiving four game suspensions. On how they were caught, I have no clue. I'm guessing that some players use it as a masking agent and it may have not worked. I'm not sure, just a guess there lol.

as far as how they were all of a sudden "caught" maybe the league decided to started going deeper with their analysis of test such as how they started in my area in the industrial plants here..just for example if u were tested for marijuana they used to just look for marijuana but a few years ago they decided to do deeper analysis, people were using "golden seal" to mask their test and the deeper analysis would test for the golden seal as well and if that was found then it was a automatic fail of the screen as one would not have that in their system unless they were trying to hide the marijuana(unless u had prove from a doctor that indeed u needed the golden seal for something.

not saying this is what the nfl did but it is one possibility.

im not worried about it being a dolphin. if one of our own gets busted, we're better off without him. the league would be doing us a favor.

    EDIT: Even Joey.

Interesting, this could possibly turn into a law-suit for the players that have been named by the Denver Television station

Steve, as soon as I saw it was Denver, the Ricky Williams leak came to mind. Somewhere there is a leak in Denver and I hope like hell they find it and fire the schmuck giving up the names.

I was just throwing it out there since it has now happened 3 times out here in the past year. Why would the Broncos really cut Travis Henry and sign Pittman? They had to know something.
