I had the videos he made, interesting man.

To me, it wasn't the shooting, that man could stalk almost anything, he had such patience, it was amazing...three days out in a rice paddy, no food no water...incredible.

Wow, great thread. I loved the part about him being almost stepped on by the enemy. They said that 2 movies incorporate his character, SPR and Sniper. I've seen SPR, but have never seen Sniper. Has anyone?

 

Yeah, Sniper I had Tom Berenger ripping off some of Hathcock's stories, a commie sniper was stalking him and his spotter, shot through the scope.

You could tell they took that straight from Hathcock's history.

 

Totally understand. I'm big into shooting and respect that kind of incredible talent. While I've had my shots it's nowhere near this kind of skill. Guy found something he loved and made it his life. Got to respect that.

 

Wow amazing. I don't think I'd feel safe going against those stats.


But the whole shooting another sniper through the scope and killing him was proven to be a hoax by Mythbusters.

 

Nope, they retested the "impossiblity" of that happening on a later episode, and it could have happened, they also did not take into account that Snipers handload their own ammunition, they don't just go buy a box of shells off the shelf.

That is one of the problems with Mythbusters, they cannot know everything that went into a given situation.

Oh snap I missed it. I remember they uses models from that era not sure what ammo they used.
