As crazy as it may sound I think he did the correct thing on the play. If he goes low and misses Shockey gets a Touchdown. Sure, Shockey gained a ton of yards but Wilson did all he could to hold him up until help arrived. No shame in not being able to take down Shockey one on one in the open field with a full head of steam

Perhaps if you call closing your eyes and reaching out gently in the hopes that some of your opponents jersey will fall into your hands so that you can lightly tug as it and pray that they fall down tackling then ya I guess he tackles high.....

It still amazes me the latitude that offensive players get to use hands to the facemask when they are the ball carrier.

it is what it is. everybody is a pundit & critic. remember the shellacking Crowder took, only to find out we couldn't play our A-Game without him or maybe the many calls for Soliai's exit, only to come to realize he is an essential piece & a top contributor our defense.
ladies, we played the season with basically a rookie defensive backfield & two strong safeties. think about it  Gibril Wilson & Bell are excellent @ Strong Safety neither are very good @ Free Safety. One will probably go during the off season. it will be cheaper & expedient to keep Wilson. they both play the position @ a very high level.

I think it really means we have sub-par backups more than anything else.

I mean really it's like having a fence made out of Styrofoam instead of interwoven q-tips. The Styrofoam still stinks, but it's better than the alternative.

All I can say is...If I got a stiffy that lasted more than four hours, my wife would need to seek immediate medical assistance.

Yeah, that's a pretty funny pic in hindsight, but he did the right thing honestly. Shockey was running full blast when they made contact, and Wilson was in an awkward position to make a low tackle. He did what he was supposed to in slowing him down, and once he was able to he went low and finished him off.

If he had gone low everyone would be *****ing that he missed the tackle, which as you can see he knew he wouldn't make, and still yelled at.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Good post, alot of times you saw Miami defenders tackling to high and not wrapping the waist or thigh area......
