Alright, I posted this thread in another forum which I follow but didn't get much of a response. Therefore, I jumped ship on that forum and found this forum. After signing Nolan and Sheridan, our coaching staff is just about settled for 2010. Now we can focus on upgrading the roster. This is what I am looking for this offseason. FA: Karlos Dansby Draft: 1.R.McClain ILB Alabama 6'4" 258 lbs 2.T.Troup NT UCF 6'3" 314 lbs 3.G.Selvie OLB/DE USF 6'4" 245 lbs 4.R.Johnson S Utah 6'2" 200 lbs 5.No Pick (Thigpen trade) 6.T.Hudgins WR Elon 6'2" 236 lbs 6.N.Overbay TE Eastern Washington 6'5" 270 lbs 7.L.Blount RB Oregon 6'2" 240 lbs UDFAs (undrafted free agents): Joe Webb QB/WR Alabama-Birmingham 6'4" 220 lbs Jimmy Graham TE Miami 6'8" 260 lbs' These are just key FAs and UDFAs that I would like to see us go after. I am sure there will be more along the OL for depth. What does everyone think? What would be your offseason moves?
I like what you have there. I would say that we need to get an OLB coach before we go after anybody. I like get Dansby. That would be a good pick for us. Plus getting McClain would be an added bonus. The other guys you have listed I don't know much about other than Blount from Oregon. It looks good to me though. Hope everything works out though.
I would be ecstatic if we could get Blount in the 7th, but I'm not sure the suspension bumps him down that far. Then again, stranger things have happened.
FA-Sam Hurd, Tully Banta-Cain, Kassim Osgood Draft 1. Earl Thomas 2. Sean Weatherspoon 3. Jason Worilds 4. Rob Gronkowski 6a. Boo Robinson 6b. Seyi Ajirotutu 6c. Keiland Williams 7a. Abe Koroma 7b. AJ Wallace
I am not positive he will slip into the 7th round also, but there are a lot of good running backs in this draft and with the Brandon Jacobs putting up such a disappointing year I feel teams might gravitate towards the smaller, faster, flashier guys. If he does slip and we do pick him up, then this offseason is going to hold some pretty serious competition at that position. Think about it. We will have Brown, Williams, Cobbs, Hilliard, Sheets, and Blount. Provided all come in to camp healthy.
I really like this and you have a good mock draft. However I got a question, does anyone know what round the pick we got from kansas city was for alleman and ndukwe last offseason? I know we traded them a 5th for thigpen and they traded us their 7th for ours last draft, but the picks for the two o-linemen still say undetermined.
Gronkowski got a 1st round grade from the advisory committee. I have a hard time seeing the Patriots letting go of Banta-Cain but you could be right. AJ Wallace is not a high character guy. Jimmy Graham will get drafted in the first three/four rounds IMO. Just my two cents.
don't know much about the upcoming draft other than what we need: ILB, NT & WR FrontOffice tends is to draft in two's w/needs probably, will see a FreeSafety the mix
I agree and I think the free agent pick up of Karlos Dansby and the 1st round pick of Rolando McClain would be this year's "draft in two's." Robert Johnson from Utah would be our FS draft pick to compete with Clemons for the starting job. Doesn't hurt that he is familiar with Sean Smith's style of play coming from the same school.
Great job! I think McClain (if he is there) or Kindle is a must in 1st round. Even if we can land Dansby or another FA LB (which will not be easy without a CBA) we need to go LB in the first round....we could use a FA LB and two high draft picks on LB. Not sure about Thomas...I still like Wilson at SS after Bell gets released and the new staff working with Clemons at FS. We also have another 7th rounder (from KC) from a trade with KC during last years draft. Would have loved to see us land April to coach the ST...I really think we need to coah up that squad....sure Ginn had some break away runs, Bess did not on PR's and the blocking just never seemed to be there....
