Who knows the historical truth, but unless this single shaft of "group burial" can be proven to have BUILT EVERY PYRAMID I am not of the mindset to dismiss the vast historical evidence and record that SLAVES, INDENTURED SERVANTS, and/or PRISONERS, etc were part of the building process that did include a wide variety of ethnicities and locals of their former homelands, some of which were Egyptians as well.

IMO, its hard to claim that this is conclusive proof that "SLAVES" were not part of the process....nor that someone wouldn't have taken pity/shown kindness for these Egyptians following this specific group demise to bury them with some from of honor or decency.

Again, who knows for sure, if this specific VALUED group, werent also part of the process with SLAVE LABOR supplementing them, and in such, this group was simply treated better??? Seems like they would simply love to remove reality of SLAVE LABOR from anything having to do with Egyptian History.

Alright don't dismiss it, but I'm curious myself to see evidence that it did exist in the traditional notion. Whose to say that the slaves weren't used for the vast number of other jobs, it's clear that slavery existed in Eygpt and by nature it's back-breaking. I don't think that's being excused.

It's good to know so that we're better educated. We just have to take care not to extend the doubt about slaves building the pyramids to other aspects of slavery or to cast doubt on the Bible. The Bible doesn't state that slaves built the pyramids, but cities.

The Egyptians lived in cities, which themselves are not pyramids. The pyramids are tombs for the pharoahs.

Slavery has been going on since humans started walking the earth in some form or another and didn't end here with the end of the WONA either imho.

The real question that comes to my mind is with the pyramids being so perfectly alined one would think that skilled workers were needed to make sure the construction was done properly. Not saying that all sorts of labor wasn't used but I would think a higher % of skilled labor was needed at this project. Were there skilled slaves, I'm sure there were but I would question the numbers needed to do this job properly.

As to the Egyptians wanting to remove the idea of slavery from their history books, well, the feeling I get when watching news from that area leads me to believe that they don't have the same sort of feelings we do about that part of their history.

If it were the truth...then it would be the truth. Regardless of what the bible says...I'm not religious myself, but I can't imagine not accepting something as the truth if it were proven, just because a book said so.

It would seem that revisionist history is sadly very common in this part of the world.

My point is that some people, who don't read the Bible, will try to attack it based on a false premise.
