I guess I want us to be more than 'safe.' This is a draft where I really feel we need to be adding playmakers, not playing it safe. I wouldnt be unhappy with McClain, but I think we can do better where we are positioned unless the chips really dont fall our way.
Mcclain, we need linebackers bad and i think bryant would hold out if we want a WR I like Lafell in round 2
One thing I notice here is Eugene Parker doesn't seem to represent a single Miami Dolphin. I think that's telling. That he represents a lot of top athletes yet we don't seem to deal with him or his clients at all. I don't think we're going to see Dez Bryant in Aqua and Orange next year.
To be fair, how many of those guys have we ever actually had a shot at aquiring? I dont think its really too telling at all.
Both players are special and we are in need of both positions. I voted for Bryant, but now that I've read this thread, I'm not quite sure anymore. Agreed, LaFell is on top of my wishlist. Miami, please draft him!
voted for Dez but wouldn't mind seeing the FIns go defense. Personally, I think Earl Thomas would be the best option in that I think there are going to be good linebacker and WR's available later in the draft. I don't see an impact FS that is going to be there in the 2nd (could be wrong).
Never said it was a good ratio, but he had 60ish catches for 1k in 2008. He "dominated" in 2008. I agree he never scored a lot of TDs. His QBs were terrible though, which didn't help.
OK, then I will rephrase my comment... Guys that dont score TDs in college normally don't score TDs in the NFL. Don't want a guy that is going to catch 60 balls and score 2 or 3 tds. we already have that in Bess.
I don't... I mean I am sure QB play has something to do with it BUT when you get the ball 60+ times and you only score 3 TD's there is an issue there (IMHO).
Why? The quarterback is the one throwing the ball. Plus the offense dictates who is generally scoring the touchdowns. IMHO, the amount of touchdowns caught by a receiver without the entire story is a useless stat.
