NBC/Leno want Leno BACK to the 11:35 time slot and bump Conan back to 12:35. Conan refuses to move so it looks like NBC will buyout Conan with $30 million. You should do some searches and see them and even Kimmel involved making jokes about the move. Pretty funny stuff. Its sucks for Conan(yeah i know he's getting paid) since he was his dream to Host the Tonight Show. Leno should just quit he sucks anyways. Heres Kimmel on Jays show. i think it has to do more about Leno sucking at his 10 slot. Not postive about that. Dont know what the rating were
Leno was doing so bad that the affiliates complained that the ratings were too low of a lead in for their local news. Conan was losing to Letterman in the ratings.
People don't regularly want to watch a show like Leno's at 10. People instead want to watch their dramas and what not, therefore NBC didn't have consistently good ratings for the 10 o clock slot. Also, Conan's ratings haven't been good at all. Letterman's have been much better. IMO Kimmel is the best 3 on NBC, but Letterman is still my favorite.
People want to cry and be emotional at 10, become completely scared by the evening news at 11, then laugh it all away before they go to bed. its quite simple.
There is a pretty good rundown of events in the tv and movies sub-forum of the lounge. Leno's crappy lead in has helped damper Conan's presence as the host of the Tonight Show. Letterman's ratings haven't really spiked...they have pretty much stayed the same.What has happened is that NBC lost a great deal of their audience. They just went away. So Leno's show gets canceled and they are putting him back at 11:30 and were going to put The Tonight Show on at 12:05, which at that point, it is then The Next Day Show. Conan balked at it, so now he is out all together, and Leno is getting the Tonight Show back. Leno is being exposed as the backstabbing phony he is too, which is about the only positive thing to come out of this. Conan, ironically enough, is seeing his ratings rise because of this controversy. He has been as funny as he has ever been through it, never holding back.

Love all of these....but this one would have been funnier if those that were asked to leave the room were the ones that already knew that Conan was funnier than Leno.......(asking those that thought Leno was funnier loses the punch since MAJORITY left...and thats not the case in reality of Conan vs. Leno).
