Racist KFC Australian AD. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zcWQftvQpQ&feature=player_embedded"]YouTube- Racist Australian KFC Advertisement?[/ame]
Please explain to a poor dumb Aussie just how that particular ad is racist in any way? There's got to be some serious cross cultural disconnect happening somewhere for someone to call that racist.
Probably saying that because of the whole fried chicken stereotype... which I never understood why it was a bad thing because fried chicken is ****ing delicious
A bunch of rowdy black people around One white guy and the white guy calms them down by giving them fried chicken.
Oh Okay. here...it is a racist stereotype to say that you can calm Black people down by giving them fried chicken. If I made a thread stating that..i would be banned from this site.
The black people in the ad aren't supposed to be black americans, they're West Indians (group name for the former English Colonies in the Caribbean). Their cricket team is coming out here for a series of matches, so if you want to depict a group of opposing fans, funnily enough they'll be black. If we wanted to make some racist comment about passing something that would calm down a bunch of Jamicans, Barbadons and Trinidadians the guy would have been passing around ganja or rum, not fried chicken. *edit* Besides isn't it more racist to assume that American stereotypes about African Americans automatically apply to all black people all over the world regardless of their own cultures than what some people have assumed about the ad in the first place?
