Thanks for doing that, very interesting how only 3 teams in the first nineteen are playoff bound. Not surprised that we had the most difficult schedule in the end.
And the bottom 6 are all in the playoffs. This could be a blessing in disguise for Miami. A couple of key offseason additions and a more forgiving scheule next year should bode well.
Awesome work on this. Just to poke a little fun I love how you have every other team listed as thier city abbreviation, but then there is just "RAMS." As Al Bundy used to say "If you lose to the Rams your kicked out of the league."
I did that because I maintained this all year in a spread sheet. I have everything in place and I wanted to just be able to copy/paste the data from a maintained source. As a built this data some of the sources I used in the beginning used these abbreviations it was easier to just keep them the way they were so that I can easily use the Vlookup function in Excel. Geeky answer I know but its the truth lol.
Taking the general consensus of the top rated players, as well as teams needs of the teams picking ahead of us, and I come up with something that looks like this: 1. St. Louis: Jimmy Clausen, QB ND 2. Detroit: Ndamukong Suh, DT Nebraska 3. Tampa Bay: Gerald McCoy Oklahoma 4. Washington: Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma 5. Kansas City: Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State 6. Seattle: Trent Williams OT Oklahoma 7. Cleveland: Eric Berry S Tennessee 8. Oakland: Derrick Morgan, DE Georgia Tech 9. Buffalo: Bruce Campbell OT Maryland 10t. Denver: Rolando McClain ILB Alabama 10t. Jacksonville: Tim Tebow, QB Florida 12. Miami: ??? So, the question is...would Parcells & Company take Bryant if he was there? Keep in mind...much has been made of BP's MO re; not taking a WR in the 1st round.
I just don't think JAX will take Tebow. They have so many needs, and QB is one of them, but missing on a QB early in the first round can set a franchise back years. Just ask Houston and Detroit.
Love Tebow's talent and intangibles but he's deff a project QB.......and #10 overall is a huge reach and gamble, as you said. The thing is, Jax needs to put butts in the seats and Tebow, being a hometown legend, would do just that. At least for awhile anyway....
well, we'll have plenty of time to find out if they like Bryant or not. Expect Henne to work out with any wr we are interested in as they did that last March.
Agreed...on both points JS. I was really just going by a few of the early mocks. I'm sure we'll get a clearer picture as we get closer to the draft. Actually, I could see Jax picking Bryant if he's still sitting there.
I noticed those too and was kind of shocked to see Tebow that high....but the Jax connection is something that has to be considered I guess
We also had the toughed SOS before the season started if I recall. The thing is to be the best you gotta' beat the best and we played the best hard this year. I'm proud of what the team has done, and each growing pain they had this year will translate into wins next season. Thanks for the SOS....
WOW! You've got FOUR playoff teams in the top 20. ALL FOUR playoff first round bye teams are 27-32. How telling is that?????
i too believe that we will end up moving down and picking up a 2d - 2d round pick .... maybe even trading away to pick up yet another ..... to set us up for some flexibility for both FA and the draft. i also would agree with moving one of the 2ds for Marshall .... and redoing his contract -- or picking up Merriman .... one or the other .... i don't see us drafting an ILB with our current 1st rounder ..... maybe a can't miss OLB - but not ILB. and i'd be good with that. by the end of rd 3 - i anticipate us having a minimum of 2 LBs (OLB\ILB) and pick up another one (ILB) with a late pick

I dont think that bump would last for very long,Tebow has one bad game, and its right back to blackouts every week. The NFL made a serious error in giving JAX a franchise. The logic was that since they have such a rabid NCAAF fanbase the fans would warm to the NFL,but by that logic, the NFL should put a franchise in State College PA,because The Nittinay Lions have one of the largest fan bases in the country.I somehow doubt thats going to happen though.
Iam on the record after Ronnie beat new england out of the wildcat last year, that tebow would go in the first...been debating my *** off in the draft forum that I still believe it will happen, regardless of the fact that he won't be a proset QB. Well, iam starting to see a little change in momentum on that theory going my way..some folks are gonna have to take the hit, if he goes in the first, as will I, if he does'nt. There are many variables as to why The whole tim tebow package is worthy of a first round pick... A very respected poster told me that adrian wilson will not care if tebow was the best college qb ever, for which i agree with, Adrial wilson is a bad *** mother grabber, however, I'll tell ya what I think will happen with the player..just a shot, just puttin it out there for sh$#@ and giggles..but its something that Ive been thinking about. Mike holmgren takes over a starved for sucess franchise, a franchise with a rabid fanbase, takes over an offense that has no QB on the team, no leader in either one of them, thats obvious...But they do have a special formation player..The name, Josh 'the 2nd best wildcat executioner in the NFL" cribbs...they run, they run it a lot, and they run it well.... Trade both QB's, add to your draft stock, and draft Tim Tebow. morph the skills of Cribbs and Tbow together in a new offense, build a sick defense to protect that ball control offense..and let the fans have the best time of their lives, and let the owners roll in the cash that sold out stadiums, endorsements and merchandising will provide.
