    Enough of the pity party.

Enough about the games that slipped through our (read: Ted Ginn's) fingers. Men, we have one game left to play. We got one more game and then we must wait until SEPTEMBER for another game. That's 9 months away!!!! In June, we'll be dying for football. Let's savor this Steelers game.

So let's get geared up for Sunday. On Sunday, I'm not gonna worry about the playoffs and I'm not gonna think about the draft position. I'm gonna drink a lot of beer and watch my Dolphins for the last time this season. I want my team to play well. I want payback on Harrison, the scumbag who stomped on Ricky's back last year. I want to see Henne make all the throws. I want Ted Ginn to make me ashamed for cursing his name. I want all those frontrunner, bandwagon-riding Steelers fans to leave Landshark in the 3rd quarter, crying in their stupid yellow towels.

    Who's with me!?!????!?!!?!?!??

I'm definitely with you. I'm normally one of those who holds on the playoffs hope the longest, but I've thrown that towel in. So now I just want to see a good COMPLETE game, finish .500, and play spoiler for the Steelers. My dad isn't a huge fan, he more just like to antagonize me with my Phins, but he does like the Steelers so I want the bragging rights there. We beat Carolina so that gave me the edge against my mom and most of my friends (Panthers).

I'm pretty sure that was Lawrence Timmons who stomped on Ricky, not Harrison.

I agree with your main point though. Last game of the season, I want to enjoy it and I expect a hard fought game. Let's go out with a win!

    Yay, yay, rah, rah.

We couldn't beat the Texans at home with our season on the line. What makes you think we'll beat a desperate Steelers team? :pity:

No offense, but I think he is out for the season already. You may have to get payback on a different Steelers player.

It would be a decent consolation to send the Stealers home disappointed as well. Misery loves company.

I never said we were gonna beat the Steelers. I was merely advocating the proposition. I want to go out with a win. Go cry somewhere else!

Watch them destroy the Steelers and play great two weeks too late, that is the story of my life watching the Dolphins.

I understand that there are some among us who would rather see us lose a game in order to jump 5 or 6 slots in the NFL Draft. I will bite my tongue as to how I feel about these fools.

I would rather end the Steelers playoff hopes and still have some glimmer of hope than laying over and dying to pick 2 spots higher in the draft.

Call me a fool but at the end of the day that win will mean nothing and on the other hand moving up the slot could land us a future pro bowler

Think about it and tell me who would be the bigger fool ?

But what if Houston, Baltimore, Jax, and NY all lose? It is possible so we should hope for a win. Who wants to end a season on a three game losing streak anyway?

That win will keep Pittsburgh out of the playoffs. F*** Pittsburgh. Winning will make it a .500 season. Winning against the defending Super Bowl champs will be a decent way to end the season and maybe have some momentum carry over into 2010.

This is possibly the worst debate ever. I'll take winning over draft position EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. The point is to win. Do you think the players and coaches give two pieces of poop about our draft position? No, they want to win, and so do I. Winning brings good feeling. No other way around it.

Besides, if we win, we avoid a losing season.

The one that moves up a few picks to pay more salary and does not have any guarantee that the PRO BOWLER exists in that slot or even 5 slots lower. Its silly to think moving up in the draft to "sooner/higher/quicker" draft pick ever equates to better talent.

Win every game possible and use your picks as they are slotted, everything else WILL take care of itself. A higher draft pick does not help this team more than WINNING does, ever!

We had the #1 pick and we have had the LAST pick in the round.....neither guarantees anything when it comes to getting us into CHAMPIONSHIP or retaining CHAMPIONSHIP form.

Win the games you play as often as possible.

We could knock the defending SuperBowl champs out of the playoffs... that's a nice consolation prize.

I agree i can't bring myself to root against them but it will not ruin my day if they lose.
I think going 11-5 was a curse in disguise. Our draft was good last year but imagine if we moved up about 7 or 8 spots in the 2009 draft.
I want a superbowl in 2 years and if losing to the steelers helps us get better players to reach this goal in the future then the hell with this game.

We should be owing the steelers a thanks. They beat the Ravens last week which put us in the playoffs if we could win out. We couldn't deliver against a Houston team which has been a huge pain in our ***. Would be nice to win to end the season.

Drafting #11 or #20 to me, has no impact on the quality of player you get. Every year guys from #17+ play better than guys 16 and down. It's WHO you choose, not where you choose them.

This is intrinsically true; yet, if draft order meant nothing you'd never see a trade-up to get a player that wouldn't be available later.

If you have your heart set on player x obviously that would be the exception. Personally I'd never trade up unless I felt it was a weak draft class, or I was one piece away.

    Or it was Calvin Johnson.

I am so pumped! I would be more pumped if they did their job and won that way it would be on sunday night football for the final playoff spot, but still excited anyway. Screw the draft I want the season to end on a high note, and I do not want a losing season! And hey...miracles can happen.

It's going to be sad when the season is over until September...damn that is a long time away. Unless of course the Jags, Texans and Ravens lose also....then we become even bigger bengals fans.

    Or Andre Johnson.

Point is, it doesn't mean nothing at all. Not a reason to want to lose, but...honestly? If we lose Sunday I won't be as upset as I was last Sunday.

Put it this way: win and we aren't going anywhere in the playoffs with a team as bereft of talent as we are on Defense and WR; BUT - one or two draft spots might mean the difference between Dez Bryant or Sergio Kindle and the next-best guy.

    BIG difference.

Both of those guys might turn out to be nothing though.

We got Vontae Davis last draft....we picked the right guy. He's played better than a lot of guys we could have gotten earlier.

I see what you are saying, but I still want to win regardless of draft position, and if we lose I'll still be unhappy. Especially since I wont see this team play again for a long time.
