What is going on there? Vernon Carey looked like a turnstile today. And wasn't Donald Thomas supposedly some phenom? Did Thomas even play?

This is looking like a surprise weakness going into the off season.

donald thomas is just another overhyped bum
he never did anything but have a nice PRE-season in 2008 and then played 1 game and missed the whole season. and in typical dolphan fashion they proclaim him some all pro headed into 2009
need to stop overrating the players on this team and see them for what they really are...

Carey has been playing hurt the past couple of weeks and the whole OL in general is one giant M*A*S*H unit. Look how often we were switching things up on the line today...sometimes after breaking huddle. Our OL is just hurting right now and the lack of a running game is showing as a result.

Actually I wouldn't say he's overhyped. This is his first full season as a starter. It has already been revealed that he has hit his rookie wall. They are just trying to give him some help to keep him fresh. He's only a 2nd year player....and really is a rookie since he only played 1 game last year. I know we are emotional but lets not package our complex problems into a simple solution. Thats Wanny ball.

On a side note. Congrats to Wanny for winning his bowl game.

That's not an awful idea at this point. Maybe try Garner out there?

Carey isn't awful, nor is he good. He has his good moments, and bad moments. Would likely make a far better guard at this point, as he'd instantly be one of the biggest, and could crush a bit more, and would never be out on an island over there! Interesting!

Carey is way too big to play RG. He's like 340. He really doesn't have much experience there either.

I can't see Carey pulling on a Run play

I'm wouldn't thank Wanny for nothin'.

Was, is, and will always be a bum. He's the worst coach in Dolphins history - worse than Saban, CamCam, and Wilson. He did more to destroy this team than anyone the others, and I have nothing nothing but the most vile, nauseated response to hearing or reading his name.

    Excellent point.

One thing to consider, didn't we go into the season on O-lineman short to carry an additional WR - one who was never activated? That decision has come to bight us on the arse.

I was talking about next year. I dont think it would be unreasonable to ask him to lose 20 or lbs and move to the inside.

Carey has always had difficulties with weight, and i never envision him as a G with this regime ..... if anything happens to him - he will be traded for a 1/2d round pick ... but Murtha / Gardner et al will have to show that they can step in ....

we have a good crop of Gs coming along .... i am not worried about the G situation for next year .... Smiley will be gone ....
