A little to late for that, IMO. Especially after he proved that he can be a good receiver in this league.

1st, I don't even completely understand your post (specifically the second "sentence"). How about making posts that involves proper sentences and punctuation?

2nd, people question his toughness, why should an example of him taking on a DT not be a valid?

i can't believe that anyone on this site wants anyone in a PHINS uni fail .... we all want Crowder, Allen, Ginn et al do well ..... because, if they do - the PHINS do .... we all want that.

it's like as a parent, you see kids with all sorts of talent, but aren't able to use or capatilize on it ..... and that can be such a point of frustration. J Allen and Ginn are our prime examples of this. White could be added to this list quickly next year ....

unfortunately talent doesn't always = production .... but we all hope that it does.

I'll narrow it down for you. Ginn is a WR obviously so rating his toughness after an int return is basically irrelevant. How often do we see him in that situation?
It is likely that his opportunities come from catching passes and fighting for the football. I really don't care if he pops out of bounds after he catches the ball if it is a positive play. I'm not one to grade a WR on overall toughness but when you see Ted playing scared it is a problem. I see it and so does anyone who watches NFL football. I think Ted himself deep down inside knows it.

I don't know what the problem is. It could be mental toughness or the possibility he could get knocked out if he opens himself up.

Ted has a ton of talent but seems to live in fear.

I sort of agree. He is playing soft this season. But what's killing me is the difference between this season and last season. Last year, Ted Ginn Jr. was playing like a man. This year, not so much.

while im sure it wasn't your intention but you make it sound like moss knew didley about catching a ball when he got to minnesota.this is why teams hire wr coaches.the fact that ginn has turned down outside help coupled with the fact that we never hear(unless i missed it)about ginn coming in early, staying late to catch balls from the machine, setting up time to work with the qb on routes/timing tells me that ginn is perfectly fine with being mediocre and we need that mentality off this team.

now in his third season and #1 reciever the veteran should be helping mentor the younger guys we have and he does none of that.he is not and will never be a leader on or off the field and i just don't see how budding with a former player is going to change that.ginn shows a lack of coordination, determination, drive and toughness that i want out of the #1 spot.it's time to move on.this of course is all personal opinion.

I'm glad he isnt hiding from the fact that he's played some horrible football this season but it worries me a little to hear him say that as far as he knows he is back.

He has actually played pretty solid football the last 4 or 5 games but its been in a reduced role... I have to believe if he was lighting it up in practice he would be getting more touches on game day, and he is not.

    1. I was pretty sure that Ginn had been reported to do stuff with the ball machines and what not. His work ethic has not been questioned, to my knowledge.

    2. Who considers a guy going into his third year a "veteran" player? That's ridiculous...almost ad ridiculous as actually considering Ginn as a true number one option. IMO, one of the problems with Ginn is that people expected him to be a number one because Cameron drafted him at #9. He's not a number one type receiver. If you expect him to be, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. How high he was drafted was not his fault.

Only $14 million is guaranteed (the last year is voidable) and his cap hit this year is less than Jason Allen and Charlie Anderson if I'm not mistaken.

I think you are looking at his cap hit should we cut him - which is a one-time expense and does not count as his cap number each year.

I believe his base salary is like $600,000 and his bonus like $1.9 million this year. Which, like I said, isn't as bad as Ayodale, Jason Allen or Charlie Anderson.

    That really says it all.

The only thing I might add is whether or not he lives in fear, I don't know. But, he certainly plays in fear. That is very evident. And, to play scared, especially at the pro level, well...you've already lost. You're already beaten IMO.

I don't really see how that kind of thing is productive. Never understood the mentality that job description and wage somehow de-humanizes a person.

Bottom line as a person I feel for him, as a football player he needs to use this as motivation, and work long and hard to better himself. It is up to him whether he succeeds or fails.:wink2:

Read a post in a different forum titled MY WORST XMAS GIFT EVER. In the post the guy received a Ted Ginn jersey. The comments following were just hilarious.

Bottom line we will know which side is right next year. If he's as bad as one side thinks he'll be off this team next year and out of the league in two or three years. If he's still on our team next year, then the skills the other side sees are what the coaches see.

Yeah, the helmet and pads do not protect a player from the verbal shots. Some forget that they are also human.

If Ted is going to succeed he has to get tough mentally and physically. If he has to he may need to hit the weights as well. Ted has really got to want this, or his time in Miami Dolphins uniform is dwindling.

This needs to inspire him to do better. I dont under stand why people feel bad for him. He is getting paid millions of dollars to CATCH A BALL. He needs to work hard. If he is here next season it is make or break.

As you all know I like Ted Ginn and where he was picked has nothing to do with it at all. Imho all the hate Ted receives comes from that one fact and nothing more which is a shame!

There are a ton of bad plays by others on this team, that are to many to list, that have effected the outcome of games moreso that Ted's drops and if any here can not honestly SEE that then you are blinded by the fact that you blame someone for something he had NO Control over which is something I will never understand.

As for "being scared", please, this post "is" because the guy has owned up to his mistakes in public which takes more courage than playing any game!

    Go get'em Teddy!!:up::wink2:
