Ted Ginn will hook up and train with Chris Carter this offseason and become a hall of fame reciever. Jason Allen is rooming over at Ed Reeds place also so he's bout to emerge also.

Nay....nay. You support the franchise..not the players, bottom line. You have favorites, yes. But, they retire, get traded, god forbid hurt, etc. And you still support the fins. And what is the franchise like? Well...to me its kind of like a family member, or just something I support heavily and want to see do bigger and better things. And you know what pisses me off? When I see a family member settling, or not doing as well as they could be. Ginn....as a #1 is settling. I think most of us...some of you stray still, have come to terms with that. I dont expect him to do great things, at all. And I also have seen a lack of confidence in him by the coaching staff. There fore, IMO, he's over stayed his welcome. I dont care if we go the next eight hundred yrs with not having a #1 WR. As long as I see the team not settling on what it has, and trying to get better. The media and the fans seem to always be feuding about this guy. Its time to squash it. He's a distraction and obviously isn't respected by alot of other people in the league. Which in itself speaks volumes.

I believe there are more fans on here who still believe in Ginn than dont, just the ones who dont tend to be a lot more consistent in their negative support. This all stems from most people not liking Ginn from day 1 and thats fine he sure hasnt done much to sway anyone his way, but the constant crying and moaning about the same guy is consistently pathetic.

Ginn is in a position to take over games when returning kicks, so if people want to see Miami in the playoffs then darn it they are going to have to root for #19 the rest of the year...what a tragedy.

Yeh but see here's the problem...he's not going to win us games simply on ST! He's not Hester. And the fact that now instead of saying he's an important part of our passing game, to now "he's in a postion to take over games on ST" proves my point. You are settling for what we have.

So your speaking for me now?You apparently havent read any of my posts, I support every guy on the team from active roster to the cheerleaders to the practice squad.

He's a distraction? Oh really to who the haters...umm yes. He doesnt seem to be a distraction when he takes a return to the house or an end a round or a deep pass for a TD.Then, everything is fine, the guy drops a few passes and he is a bust, oh trade him, hell cut him.Pulease.

Family, I get but everyone has the annoying cousin we cant stand at the Christmas table, but we dont get rid of him, or trade him to another family, you stick behind him and help him to be a better person. As Ginn, I truly believe he was drafted for return man purposes, speed and more speed. If our FO didnt feel so strongly with him then why havent they gone out and got us a playmaker WR, via FA or trade?Obviously they have confidence in him.Maybe and hopefully the Fo will add a playmaker WR for us, and let Ginn be that return man threat.

O.J. McDuffie is my favorite Dolphin of all time, and I still support him, retired or not. I love the Miami Dolphins 110%, I bleed Aqua and Orange and that means I support all the players 110%.

There maybe a few players that I dont like, but I will not bash them,I will support them cuz they are on the team and are trying to win us a title.

That's all i'm saying, but I guess i am the idiot and the bad guy for supporting the team I grew up with and watch, spend money on merchandise and lots of time on the net getting info on every player, not just my favorites.

Joey Porter would be better off if he talked less about things that occur OFF the football field. It would help the team too.

anyways, I'll bet Porter's pre-game rant to the team will be about 'goin' out there to protect our little bro' type of deal. That whole, 'they insulted part of our family' thing.

Anyways, I just care about winning. If Joey's antics help, fine. If they distract us, I'm less okay with it.

You knwo, it occurs to me that Joey Porter is actually trying to help Ted ginn learn to act like a man. To step up to the plate and have some balls, confidence, swagger.. you know?

Maybe Joey annoys me, but if he can get Ted to go from scared forest-fawn to a Stee Sm,ith type attitude, I'll be grateful to Joey.

Personally, I believe that the difference between starting at your 20 and your 35 on a consistant basis is just as important as offense or defense.

Did you miss the Jets game?

Settling? If you think I expect Ginn to be Larry Fitzgerald your wrong, im simply saying no matter what he is in the position to help this team win games, sure Id rather him catch 7 balls for 150 yards but thats just not likely. We cant worry about where he was drafted thats a moot point now. he still can have an impact and has so why not just hope he does.

Its sad becuase we have some knowledgable posters on here who use all their energy on dissing Ginn....but these threads can be entertaining, normally not but sometimes.

I think he has huge mental blocks, the talent is there and all you need to see is the move he put on all world CB Darrel Revis, but he is lacking the "swag" that recievers carry. When your that small you need a chip on your shoulder....he needs to be more hood.:shifty:

I would feel so much better if he would punch someone pop off on the Jets after urining on them again, do a creative dance after a score?

Ginn needs to just get pissed off, he is to mild mannered....even Marvin Harrison was strapped.

Yeah, that would be sweet, it would get me even more hyped up after watching him return one, to see him hit his chest or let the opposing fans know what's up.

He might just be too humble for that though.

I'm getting sick of this stupid drops the ball stuff.

He never had a problem with drops except for about a four game stretch, and in that stretch really only 3 were balls that should have been caught without a doubt.

    lets go a different direction
ginn had 11 catches in the indy game
    that was a good night
should have been 12 and a win
    ted dropped the game winner
    in the other 12 games
ginn has caught a whopping 17 balls
you guys are ok with that huh
    im not
    those numbers are anemic
how does a player get fired up over that

So you didnt get fired up when Ted Ginn
lit up the Jets 2 times this year???
Or when he makes some nice runs from a reverse?
Or takes a kickoff and gives our offense good field position?
Or makes a nice Steve Largent sideline catch?
    Just wondering.

How in the hell is he a distraction? Because a few fans are preoccupied with waiting for him to make a mistake? Seriously, read the game thread or the chat on med's site, it's like wolves waiting for a piece of blood red meat. I've seen Ginn criticized for absolutely nothing, he didn't do anything wrong. He ran the kickoff to the sidelines looking to follow his blockers and break free and there was nothing there, that's something that every returner in the league does and the kid was jumped on with a chorus of "SUCK!".

It reminds me of how Ronnie was treated in the first two years of his career, every post game thread was about how he was a bust or how we should trade him or how we couldn't trade him for a bad of balls. Had those fans gotten their way he wouldn't have been on the team and given an opportunity last season in the WC. Enthusiasm is great, overreaction.....not so much.

Ginn doesn't mouth off in the media like Porter, he isn't a off the field problem like Chris Henry was, he isn't disrespectful to the coaches or teammates like Brandon Marshall was earlier in the year in Denver or TO has been throughout his career. I don't see him as a distraction at all, infact he's one of the quiet players. If we're going to worry about whether or not opposing players approve of or respect our players, we might have to think about getting rid of Henne because the Jets players aren't very high on him. Silly, no? Infact Porter might be the best example of a player who is both a distraction and someone who isn't respected around the league because of his mouth. Ginn isn't Porter, not even close. :wink2:

I don't understand how he's a distraction in any way

Exactly, his hands were never an issue until he had a few bad plays this year.

Umm... no. Ginn isn't a big redzone threat like a Randy Moss, his game isn't (and never was) to go up and fight for the ball in the endzone, there are actually few players who do that on a consistent basis. But because we don't have that type of player on the team, Ginn has been asked to try and do that with his 5'11" frame. On that play in the endzone, the ball was high and the defender was able to hit Ginn's arm, it wasn't the cakewalk that you make it out to be.

And had the defense not imploded catastrophically, the game never would have come down to that last play. But instead of acknowledging that, some folks lay the whole loss at Ginn's feet because he didn't catch a desperation play at the end of the game, and that's beyond silly.

Yeah, I've had to wear the bullet proof vest the whole season.I need to ask Santa for a new keyboard with trying to defend him in there, i just gave up.It is absolutley ridiculous to read the hatred over one player and even if he make a great play, the hate still comes in.

Good thing for fullscreen mode, is what i do over there now.It amazes me how our own fans have more hatred and negative things to say about one player on our team and never anything bad about the other teams we play.

    1) he's not a self made distraction. his distracting is a product of the fans and media mostly. In which case I would suggest half this board stop distracting the dolphins.
    2) how do you know he's not respected because the titans are talking ****? oooooooooooooo bet an opposing teams never talked **** to the dolphins before a game. evar.

You can continue to make all the excuses for the guy that you want. Ginn's career here as a WR has been mostly miserable. We needed him to step up this year, he didn't. He plays a sport and a position that keeps you in the spotlight, makes a lot of money doing it. I feel sorry for us fans more than I do for him.....and will be glad when he's gone. If that's "bashing" then so be it. As far as I'm concerned it's just an opinion.....my own.
