Hey everyone. Back from Army basic for Christmas. That's a great thing. The bad thing: I have to go back from 18 more days. It's good to be back (THAT'S an understatement). It's been nerve racking not being around for all the Dolphins goings-on. My lovely wife has been mailing me Dolphins articles to keep me up the speed on news and such. Obviously it's not the same though. Basic is pretty easy other than missing my wife and children like crazy. I've lost 20 pounds. I had no idea what I weighed until I got home. No scales there. So I was extremely surprised when I stepped on the scale. I guess without beer and those in between meal snacks (not to mention constant running and marching) will do that to you. Anyway, I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone a little while I'm home. And I'm thrilled that I will be able to see two Dolphins games while I'm here! Go Phins!
Training is good. Love to fire the M-16. Physically, it's tiring - but not unbearable. Long days for sure. It feels like I've been gone for a year. It's great to be home.
Welcome back SCall13! Glad to hear you're getting through basic without too much trouble. Sounds like they're whipping you into shape. Keep up the good work, and hope you enjoy being back home and with family over the holidays. And, go Phins!

Was wondering where you had been. I didn't catch it if you said, but where did you do basic, Bragg? It was 41 years ago I was going through the same as you. The Christmas break couldn't have come at a better time. I was on the verge of having walking pneumonia. I got to Ft Bragg on 16/nov/68 thanks to Piedmont Airlines. It was a very cold wet cycle that I went through. Everyone was spitting harkers on the streets from the exposer by the time we hit Christmas break. I had enough time off to recoup my health and strength and breezed on through Basic. I went in at what I thought was a very fit 220 lbs and they got 20 from me they didn't think I needed. Good luck Brother, I will keep you and your family in my prayers
I am an Army vet, spent 12 years in, and one in Iraq... Thanks for your service, and if you want, I have a hookup for Beef Jerky... Tillamook... What costs $5 at the PX costs me less than $2 because I am a veteran... I will send you some if you want FOR FREE... Go to the website below, and pick what you want... I'll throw $50 your way... That's 25 bags.... You just need to tell me what flavor you want... http://www.tcsjerky.com/
