Ginn is a little *****, plain and simple. The whole league knows it, and now they don't even care if Ginn - or everyone else - know that they know it.

The way he was crumpling even before being hit on returns last week is an escalation of the cowardice we've seen from Ginn all season, so I would expect more of the same - not a reversal of the trend.

It'd be nice if he took it upon himself to be a man and earn even just a fraction of the $17 million he's already banked from the Dolphins, but don't hold your breath.

In my opinion, burning who many people consider the best cornerback in the league and at least in the top two for a 57 yard touchdown is much more impressive then taking a screen for 59 yards. You say Ginn's play was a team effort, but a screen play is way more of a team effort.

one could also say that we wouldn't be sitting here right now worrying about what 4 other teams are gonna do in the last few weeks to even have a remote shot of getting into the playoffs as a wildcard if ginn wouldv'e caught half the balls he's dropped this year.i think if i remember right that one of the announcers for the jags game mentioned the fact that we were something like 2 for 25 on deep passes.certainly not all of those were ginn's fault as others were thrown to deep but we have to have more consistancy from the #1 reciever roster spot ginn is currently holding.

just to respond to another post saying how ginn has a great game when he gets mad..unfortunately he is a hard person to upset as apparently he's only been mad in some 2 games this year.we need a #1 reciever that can have a great game no matter their mood.

Well, his contributions in only 2 games have really helped. Two dropped passes in the endzone against Indy and that poor excuse of a game that he played against NO are also two games that maybe another reciever might have helped us win. Im not saying Ginn is useless, im just saying that he has hurt us badly at times as well as helped us greatly at times. Personally, id like to find some consistency in him or just move on.

Nate Washington is a moron, what the hell has he done in this league lately? "You can talk when you're a consistent player..." yada, yada, yada... OK Nate, you certainly should speak up with your 600 yards receiving or so each year... if that.

Seriously, I haven't heard anything from Ginn other than "this isn't the time to bring this up."

And lately posts about Ginn that are negative seem to have this format which I find hilarious. Bash a player up and then try to lessen the blow with the "hey now, I want Ginn to have a huge game......" line.

    [negative point #1 here]

    [negative point #2 here]

    [negative point #3 here]

["I hope Ginn has a 200 yard game and proves me wrong........" here]

This isn't really a story to me at this point, something that Chris Johnson said that Ginn tried to say "Hey, it's not the time or the place. We're in a playoff push right now." However the media and a few players just won't let go.

You're crossing the line by attacking a member of this community; I derided a player on the team to which this forum is dedicated - you're deriding another poster.

Nabo, but at the end of the day, whats the point of that really??

Would you really say it to Ginn directly?

On one hand we ask each other, as we type, if you dont have anything nice to say, dont make it personal with a poster, but on the other, we dont draw the line for EMOTIONAL opinions about players of the Team or Staff etc?

Can you be dissapointed in any Player or FO/Staff member, sure. But shouldnt we treat Players of this team and FO/Staff members who cant defend themselves the same way we are asked to treat each Poster that posts here per TOS?

Seems to be a double standard that is guaranteed to start an argument that is EMOTIONAL not FACTUAL to debate and discuss.

Maybe its just me, but I see this more and more, and have been dragged into these non-winnable discussions and arguments more and more.

We are all better than this arent we???

Regarding the question at hand, I don't think Ginn will get an opportunity to make an impact in the passing game. I expect that we'll try to run right at Tennessee.

Special teams also hasn't been that impressive, especially last week ...we've had some injuries to players on special teams and that's impacting our ability to have successful returns.

No one is saying you cant have an opinion on the value or worth of Ted G. But if its all EMOTION, you would expect all EMOTION right back at ya.

If its Factual/Statistical or a statement of what you see, then it can only be fairly debated from a Factual/Statistical or statement of what another poster see's.

Just saying, we all can use a break and step back.

you know I love you!!!!! Brother's from other Mother's.

    1) You feel he is soft, doesn't seek out contact, has a tendency to portray that he will sacrifice his safety for the gain of the team (alligator arms, etc)

    or

    2) You wrap that all up in the Ginn is a little ***** comment.

Again, I understand where you are coming from, but its easier to discuss approach #1 then it is approach #2 if you dont expect someone to use limited discussion and pure Emotion right back in response.

I see value in Ginn the moments he does produce and execute...I see decreased value each time he portrays these weaknesses that he gives off.

The big question is does he survive the off-season?

He isn't a Sparano, Ireland, or Parcells pick....and while 2008 may have earned him a lease for his contract, his overall performance in 2009 seems to trend in the out box direction.

    Would you agree?

But, I also understand your frustrated with the season and maybe the fact Ginn isnt a top notch WR.Trust me, I get upset too when he drops a pass, but I cant go off on him or hate on him i can only hope that the next game he shines.I just wished we played the Jets a few more games this year, nobody has anything bad to say about him after he tears up the Jets.:wink2:

Ginn is everything this administration doesn't want in a Receiver; the only thing he has going for him is speed. But what good is speed on a football field without the ball? Because that's where Ted Ginn lives 90% of his professional life: Without The Ball, FL.

He's gone in the offseason, no doubt in my mind. And good riddance.

ST wise Miami is ranked #8 and the Titans are 28th, Pitt is #30th and the Texans are #7th so I think that Ted can have a positive effect this Sunday. In fact I think he will do real good these last 3 games even if only on ST. Plus if the weather is bad in the Hou. game (where they are ranked #30) that just opens the door that much wider.

Will this happen, who knows, but I'd like to think it will. Peace to all, brothers.:hi5:

I defiantly can buy into that from a receiver standpoint. And while he has value from a return standpoint (if you are of the mindset you want a guy that can take it to house everytime) I think the contract does him in.

The question I have now, is the same one since Parcells/Ireland came on board.....does he cut a guy outright if he cant find a trade partner??

If he is that guy then Ted G. is gone....if he only cuts ties via Trade then I think Ted may be around next year. Its a close call.

    From a strictly pragmatic standpoint:

    1. As far as the season, we're actually doing better than I thought to this point, so I'm really not frustrated. I'm pretty happy with the development of Henne and the emergence of Hartline and others, and to be honest that's all I wanted out of this season.
    2. Ted Ginn occupies a roster spot that could be used by another player - one who can be relied upon. Also, he takes up a lot of cap space for a guy who is essentially a Returner - about $4.7M a season including his prorated guaranteed money. That does tend to grind my gears, but from a strictly business standpoint, Ginn is a very poor investment.

To their credit, they ate their losses with Wilford and Eric Green.

Ginn will be an expensive cut, and that might keep him on the roster yet; but keeping him only compounds his taking up roster space and cap space in subsequent years, and I think that might be the tipping point.

Okay one dont use words I dont know...
I didnt mean anything by it when I said you were frustrated with the season.
I thought Mueller drafted Ginn for speed cause we needed a return man?I actually like the fact we finally got a threat at return man.Ginn, is good as a deep threat, maybe not a slot guy like Bess.
Let me ask you Nabo, if Ginn restructures his contract and we keep him just strictly for return purposes and were able to get another playmaker WR, will you be good with that?

AFAIK, a rookie contract cannot be restructered?

As for Ginn's role moving forwards, #4 Wr and Kr, these last three games are huge for Ted Ginn, both if he stays in Miami or we shop him around.

If he made the pro bowl as a KR, even better, it would bump his trade value and would make him more valuable to the Dolphins Team.

If he restructured and was listed at another position than WR.
    Technicality.

Do you honestly believe that the NFL will be a perpetually uncapped league like baseball? That there won't be some kind of cap?

Love that saying (Family Guy and all)......

Ginn is the type of NFL player that is measured against his contract year by year more than other players/positions. I understand all have it happen to some degree, but a T. Ginn 9 route type (ST guy), seems to have the shortest of leashes in the game.

I think he earned the leash in 2008 as WR and less as ST....and maybe he earns a leash in 2009 as ST and less as WR, but if I had to guess, this isn't what this 3some wants from roster spot. I think he is forcing their hand to some degree to move him (still dont see them cutting him outright - but if that happened, I couldn't argue). They have a plan, and they are following it, and two seasons of their plan, mean more to me than 1 football player/roster spot.

I do..in the short term, don't forget that there is also no cap floor, the owners can pocket the difference if they cut some players with big contracts and just go with rookies/youngsters.

Not that the Bengals, Bills, Jags would do anything like that mind you...:shifty:

Eh, Ginn calls himself the mouse, for good reason, he doesn't eat much, can bust a long play and typically shows up in big games.

I'll withold judgment on TG until our playoff run is over, a part of me really wants 1 returner for kickoffs and punts.

Imho it really depends on how he responds FS, he has been slandered as a professional, if he plays Teddy Ball..run out of bounds 3 yds short on kickoffs, not break off some wicked cuts on his routes, then it is same old TG and we would/might/maybe better off without his services moving forwards.

Though it took Miles Austin literal years to be a good nfl Wr and he was Irish Find, so maybe the Front Office sees things differently?
