yeah glad we have never switched any play calling up and found success. it wasnt a great call, but if bess doesn't fumble it goes for positive yards over what 5 yards?
Again. I'm not putting the fumble on anybody but Bess. I'd appreciate if you took the time to read my posts rather than ignorantly put words in my mouth. Thanks in advance if you manage to do that,
then again explain to me what you would be saying if the fumble didn't occur. sorry im not ignorant enough to not figure out why you are all pissy.
YOU'RE OUT OF ORDER IM OUT OF ORDER!! THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS OUT OF ORDER!! Sorry r & r if i was an ***. I'm partially drunk. my bad b.
The fumble doesn't matter, IMO. It was a BAD CALL, no matter the outcome, for the simple reason that it was Bess running it. Let's have Haynos run the next end around. If we're going to run that play, it should only be Ginn...and we shouldn't run it two or three times a game. Ginn had already done it once for 16, should have left it at that...but Henning likes to call the same trick plays multiple times a game. Posted via Mobile Device
Same here. I believe I was a bit of an *** my self. All's well that ends well right. I don't agree with some of the playcalling today but I'll take a look on the the brightside. 2 games in a row our defense has been exceptional, which is a good sign. Not to mention the field condition was downright embarassing. Hopefully after sobering up I'll be able to make it to radioshack to purchase a new remote control, since somehow my current one ended up broken after a particular end around before the half
DAVID LEE!!! I effing HATE Henning.. For every 1 good playcall he has, he has 4 bad ones to go with it... Another example.. Can someone explain to me why we rollout and run Henne up the sideline on our last possession? Why not just hand the ball off?
he had two questionable plays called today not bad there is no more knowledgeable OC in the NFL today much to do about nothing, this is a non issue
I think he call's a good game for the most part today I thought he called a great game. We can't place any of the blame for the fumbles or the INT on Henning. If a play doesnt gain yardage you can't just blame the call. Most fo the time it simply comes down to exicution and we (the fans) never know if or when an OC is trying to set up a play down the line. Anyway thats my 2 cents worth.
No Pat White plays today means I'm giving Henning a pass, not that he needs one from me. I didn't like the end around to Bess either, but it wasn't the worst play call in the world. We'll need more offense than what we got today though if we're going to hang with the Texans. Looks like Andre Johnson woke up today.
Bottom line is if we don't turn the ball over 3 times (almost 4) then the game isn't even close. Players and not the scheme or play calling have to take the heat for that.
even if bess doesn't fumble it was a wasted down qb was hot at the time so we run our slowest wr on an end around when you are driving before halftime stupid call
not sure what you are defending bro the timing was poor the play was poor the decision to give our slowest wr the ball in that situation was poor that play stunk henning fuzzes out once in a while and loses his mind i can't control it but im entitled to raise heck over it i think the man is senile or bipolar or self important can't quite put my finger on it
What positive yards? He was tackled for no gain. Henne was 3-3 for 45 yards on that drive and there was only a minute and a half left. There was absolutely no reason to run an end around but what made it such a terrible call was that it was an end around to Bess who is very slow. It was bad timing for the call and it was run with the wrong personnel.
not sure what you are saying is a waste as it got positive yards, or would have if not for the bess fumble.
pretty sure he would have had some yards. at least thats what I remember. and henning likes to try to throw the opposition off. not sure why people seem to think thats a horrible thing to do. edit: you are right it was a negative yardage play. I stand by what I said though, throwing off the defense or attempting to, is not a bad thing to do.
Once again, Bess is nowhere even remotely too slow to run an end around, and when he has in the past, it's gone for 10+ yards and the first down. This isn't really so much a fact based discussion as it is "That play didn't work, it never works on Madden so it's terrible for the Pros!" thread though I'm seeing.
I think the biggest problem with the play is doing it with Bess, the slowest WR on the roster. If it was Ginn ok, still a bad call but at least Ginn has success with end arounds. But under a minute with Henne lighting it up, I'd prefer no end arounds, just my opinion.
it was a horrible call you can actually sit there and tell me you liked the call please state examples when that play with bess has worked so i can look them up i dont remember the end around ever working with bess if you can prove it then im more than willing to listen the timing was also piss poor
Yes, I can sit there and do that. Being factually correct is a wonderful thing. As for the proof, go to either ESPN or NFLs or any other stat website and note Bess' career rushes. And there absolutely was nothing wrong with the timing on the play. That is when you call a reverse, when a team is not anticipating it and a failed play that doesn't cause a turnover can otherwise be mitigated. I don't understand at this point how people are conflating bad execution with bad timing.
So one bad call in a game that we won filled with mistakes by the players (3 fumbles and an int iirc?), that should have been a blowout had they not been made, and this fire henning thread starts up again? Wow, I don't think you guys will ever be happy with anything he does, we might as well just get rid of him then.
Bumping this thread so folks can see that Dan Henning is still making the exact same mistakes that infuriated us all last year. I'm not sure I can watch anymore Dan Henning football. I'll be a Dolphins fan till the day I die, but I might have to take a hiatus until either - A.) Dan Henning is fired; or B.) He dies. I don't wish death on anyone, but Henning should not be coaching anymore. And I don't care if he's forgotten more about football than I'll ever know. That's probably true. Too bad he seems to have forgotten just about everything.
The problem with Henning is he's a fossil. He has not adapted his play calling to today's game IMO. Guys like Josh McDaniels and even (gulp) Brian Schottenheimer have passed him by.
Ahhh...the bump had me rediscover what I said a year ago. I think I said it best then....and I think the bulk of it applies still today. He is suspect and he has to go now! You have a 3rd string QB in the game, a low scoring game, and no pass protection....so you call for him to throw the entire game. Especially with your D on the field for most of the game. Brilliant play calling. Tony keeps saying we are a running team, that is who we are and we won't change who we are. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT! I am starting to think that is all a smokescreen.
sparano explained why we werent running in his presser this morning. we had 24 plays in the first half we had run 6 times off of that iirc. severla of them went for negative yards. one there wwas a holding calll that put us at 1st and 20 or 2nd and 20, another was the reverse to hartline where if the handoff is clean he runs for twenty yards or so. and the last 4 or 6 plays were in the final two minutes where you are trying to get lots of yds quickly. the problem was two fold. our defense couldnt get off the field and our oiffense couldnt drive and eventually we fell behind too much to be able to run.
And you continue your personal mission to defend Henning. Do you place any blame on him for calling so many plays that resulted in negative yards that put us in that hole to begin with?
