Agreed 1000% Concept was a winner, but the execution was flawed, I felt myself hoping for it to end long before it did. The coolest part was how 'perfect' they made the surrogates look.

I saw Terminator Salvation the other day, excellent movie, 4/5.

Also if they can CGI a young Arnold Schwarzenegger I'm pretty sure he could have recorded a few lines of dialog.

I did not enjoy that movie as much as I thought I would/wanted to. It felt Transformers XXIV or something. There was no clear cut antagonist Terminator, it was more of a war movie set in the future. I'm hoping the rest of the trilogy brings it all together and makes it worthy of the original movie.

    That was the idea.

Sooner or later, that's what the franchise would have to turn into.

The franchise is actually for sale so let's hope someone with a brain buys it and hires someone other than McG. The next movie def needs to be R too.

Joss Whedon jokingly offered to buy the franchise for like $10,000.

I understand that it was a 'war' movie, but still think it would have been better with a genuine Terminator antagonist, instead of a myriad of different machines. That would have kept it truer to its roots and the original formula that made the original trilogy so successful.

Idk how you could just have one terminator when we already knew what the future was like with armies of them.

The story could have used the war as more of a backdrop and had a terminator hunting JC down. Of course it would have been kind of archaic compared to the the T100 and those that followed, but it could have worked:

That is how JC is supposed to die, unless they scrap that plot point since apparently no one liked T-3 (except for me apparently)

I do like this new approach since we've been hearing about this war vs the Machines and now we finnally get to see it.

Saw 'Funny People' on Monday. I was very disappointed in it. I feel if the movie was focused just on Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen's characters the movie could have been very good, yet all the stuff with Leslie Mann just felt forced and out of place, plus the movie itself was way too long clocking in at 2 and a half hours. I really think if those scenes were cut and more focus was made on the Sandler/Rogen relationship, what it's like to be a newcomer struggling to make it, what it's like to be a huge star with struggling with his life, while turning the movie into more of a drama than comedy (because there were only a few funny parts in it) it would have been a lot better. Also I wasn't a fan of the whole illness angle, especially since it lasted for exactly 30 minutes or so.

The wife and I have been tearing through all of the Christmas movies we own, in addition to the TV and TV Specials.

We've made it through Jingle All the Way, The Santa Clause, It's a Wonderful Life, and Gremlins ... we're watching the Polar Express and going to follow that up with the Muppet Christmas Carol later.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Wasn't what I expected, especially for an R-rated movie. I was a bit opfinistic
when it started and Kate Beckinsale was stripping down to get in the shower, but that ended really fast.

Watching "The Fourth Kind" now. Horribly disappointing.

Even if the "real footage" is real, it just makes the lady look like a whack job, which takes the interestingness out of it completely.

That's what I assumed, but wasn't entirely sure.

The fact that it isnt real makes it even worse IMO. I mean if it was real at least you can say "Hey thats the story" but when it isnt, come on at least try and sell something halfway interesting.

    Watched:

I Love You Man - I really like Jason Segal, so I really liked this one.

Defiance - Not quite what I was expecting, but still plenty entertaining.

State of Play - A nice thriller, with plenty of twists. I enjoyed it.
