This shows me why he is going to be even better next year. http://www.nfl.com/videos/miami-dolphins/09000d5d814c0d5d/WK-13-Chad-Henne-highlights Enjoy this guys. I love it too much!!
omg...watch the 4th and 6 play again. Jake Long totally false starts and the refs didn't call it! we got real lucky there...
I love watching these highlights. A few observations: First of all, Henne has a blazingly quick release. Bess, although he isn't very fast, he has great QUICKS and knows how cause separation and get open. And he can get those YAC. That O-Line played great for the majority of the game, Henne was given more than enough time to throw some of those balls.
Ive been sayin it all year..this guy is special on the run.. Couple of days ago, mariucci was on qam, he went out of his way to talk about how dangerous henne is on the run.. The receivers have now found the tempo for which they need to play at.. Theres always gonna be some drops here and there with Henne, his arm is that lethal.. Catching a quick slant with your hands by him, is half skill, and half luck..lol.
it really shows off just how dang quick Jake Longs back step is. He's already in perfect position for his block by the time the ball is actually snapped. You can totally see why the refs didn't see it cause it's about as close to instant as you can get.
Just to keep things in perspective. Here's a list of things Henne should achieve as a Dolphin to be considered elite. Watching him knock some of these feats off the list in his first year has been fun to watch. I'm looking forward to next year already. Throw for 300 yards in a game - YES Throw for 400 yards in a game - NO Throw 2 TDs in a game - YES Throw 3 TDs in a game - NO Throw 4 TDs in a game - NO Throw 5+ TDs in a game - NO Throw 20 TDs in a season - NO Throw 30 TDs in a season - NO Throw 40 TDs in a season - NO Complete a season with less than 10 INTs - NO Throw for 3,000 yards in a season - NO Throw for 4,000 yards in a season - NO Sweep the Pats - NO Sweep the Jets - YES Sweep the Bills - NO Beat every team in the division in one year - YES Win the AFC East - NO Win 10 games in a season - NO Win 12 games in a season - NO Win 14 games in a season - NO Win a playoff game - NO Get voted to the Pro Bowl - NO Win FedEx Air Player of the Week - NO Win AFC Offensive player of the month - NO Win NFL MVP - NO Win the AFC Championship - NO Win the Super Bowl - NO
Ive been watchin it for 2 years..Hes such a great player, iam always watching him while i'am watching the play.
What worries me about Henne is his touch on those really soft passes. He had that huge miss on Polite late in the game, but at the beginning of the 2nd quarter he overthrew a wide open ... Polite. On the right side. Might even be the same route. This is just a lob and he's missing it. We hope he learns how to hit this pass
Well... I think its clear...Henne does have good touch on the ball...he just needs to be more consistant.
it is part touch and part composure. Polite was not (and probably never is) the primary target on either play. Both plays Henne went through his progressions well, found the open guy successfully, but then just threw it too hard due to wanting to make the play so badly IMO. Still tho, having a QB missing the open FB out of the flat is a much easier problem to fix then having a QB who can never find the open guy to begin with.
that list can be completed in one season. getting into the HOF requires completing many things on that list over and over for a long time.
excellent looks like the IceMan has found the yellow brick road & is well on his way to making his bones in 2009 Kudos Chad Henne
