But if you put him on the field just to do what he wants to do well, you're endorsing him not doing those other things well. He is a lot less likely to become a complete WR if he gets rewarded for being an incomplete WR. Same thing with Wake. No better way to motivate them work on certain things than by limiting their snaps.

    huh?
I could care less how he gets rewarded as a WR if he can go out and help the team
once again if he dresses he deserves it right

    motivate by limiting snaps
    Turner isn't getting any
    Wake is

    speculate much? :wink2:

What in the world makes you think he can help the team? Dressing does not mean he deserves anything other than the 2 ST snaps he has played.

Ted Ginn is active so we are already going with 52 LOL
Turner dressed for those two games because he did something to deserve it
A guy doesn't dress because of lack of players

He's been active for all of 2 games out of 11, and both of these have come late in the season after we've lost a whole host of players to injury. The only reason he's been active is because there hasn't been anyone else on the roster.

Actually, as a member of our 53 man roster, Turner has dressed for every game this season. He's only been active for 2 of 11 games.

NFL rules state that you can only have 46 players on your active roster on Sundays, and Turner has only been one of our "top 46" twice out of eleven times.

Again, these have come in the last 3 weeks, after the roster has been seriously depleted to injury. This leads to the logical conclusion that Turner couldn't get active until after better players landed on IR or were out due to injury.

You're not going to see what he's going to do in one or two plays.

And you activate him if you might potentially need him. It isn't rocket science, by any means. If you're down a player due to injury, or are going into a game where the gameplan might be multi-receiver sets, you activate an additional receiver. Under optimal conditions, he probably won't play, but if an injury occurs you have the option to put him out there.

All opinions aside, we're all fans of the same team here. Perhaps we can avoid implying we think another fan here is too dumb to understand anything? We're better than this. I hate to think that our losing season (thus far) is bringing out the worst in us. I know I've had my bad moments too, but let's all just get along and focus on hating the real enemy: the New England Hate-riots.

    1) You could have left the words "to develop" off the thread title and it would have been equally valid. It's not even long speed he lacks so much as acceleration and short area quickness of any discernible kind. He's the anti-Welker.

    2) Turner's 40 time is akin to Wilford's. Wilford ran a 4.58. Turner ran a... 4.58. Wilford entered the league at 221lbs.Turner is... 220. Let's just hope we don;t see Turner being tried at tight end next (Wilford's last stop on his way out the door).

    3)

I am encouraged that they think Turner may be fast enough to use on Special Teams' actually. Maybe that'll get his speed and conditioning up. who the hell knows.

I wouldn;t hang my hopes on him at this point, anyways.

The forgotten name in all of this is Brennan Marion.

I really think that kid would have shown up in this offense.

I would strongly suggest a few of you familiarize yourselves with the Terms of Service agreement you accepted when you signed on to be a part of this board. There is no room for personal insults anywhere here. Sarcastically questioning ones intelligence and the equally silly responses are not going to win you friends. If you have nothing nice to say, keep it to yourself.

I would, as soon as I figure out why I would want or need to.

Sperry had alot more than a couple of snaps in the last few games. Pro Football Focus has him with 35, and 37 vs. the Bucs and Panthers, and doesn't have the Bills up yet. That's about half the snaps in those respective games.
