Well, I do have a problem with it. It's the 4th quarter. It's an extremely low percentage throw, especially with Ginn as the target, and if you miss you've got 2nd and 10 and you're setting yourself up for a punt from inside your own ten. (I should make clear that Ginn bears no part of the blame for the play failing; the pass was underthrown as you said.)

We missed, we punted from inside our own ten, the Bills got the ball on our 40, and kicked the winning field goal.

Now did that call cause us to lose? Of course not. It wasn't nearly as big a contributor as RW's interception, for starters. But it hurt us.

If I'm the head coach and I hear a play I don't want I speak up, it's his job!

He always has the play chart in his hands.

That 0-3 start has ****ed the Dolphins all year long, losing to the saints is also a kick in the crotch, however our roster is still weak, we lack playmakers.

I agree with you in principle but that's a slippery slope you start going down once you start cutting off the OC's you-know-whats. You're better off firing/demoting him at that point imo.

I should've been more clear, I saw him being more active with it, covering his mouth with it and the like, it seemed to me that he was calling in plays, which I hadn't seen him do before. Maybe I just haven't been paying attention though.

The problem with the halfback pass was not Henning's decision, but Ricky Williams.

Ricky Williams has to make a decision on the play, and he made the wrong one. He should have ran the ball or thrown it away, and they've coached him to do that.

As for the playcall itself... If it works it's brilliant, if it doesn't it is the worst thing ever. Shall I repost reactions towards Ronnie Brown's touchdown vs. the Patriots?

I don't understand why anyone thinks David Lee is the heir apparent for the OC job.

He's seemingly been a good QB coach, but as far as molding the offense? No one has any idea what he has done besides a link to the Wildcat. He didn't invent the Wildcat, he ran it because his head coach wanted to run it. He didn't help develop it, we don't really even use the formation or tendencies that he did as an OC anymore, and there's not a whole lot of material on display for his ability coaching the normal NFL offense.

Also, to boot, our offense prior to this game was ranked #11 in points scored.

That's pretty damned good given that it's all basically on the back of a running game and a 1st year starting QB.

Henning has been awful. Period. Goes to the wildcat at the wrong times, calls too many gadget plays, calls the same pass plays over and over again depending on down and distance. He's either too predictable or too cute. He better get it together.

Sparano is getting another pass this week, huh? I'm calling out the head coach and it has NOTHING to do with the (brutal) playcalling this afternoon.

Where the hell was the urgency with this team? They sure as hell didn't look like a group that had their season on the line. And for all the praise that Sparano gets for being a "master" motivator, his team comes out and plays like that coming off (what is essentially) a 2nd bye week? Seriously?

What a disgusting, lethargic and embarrassing performance.

The Wildcat has saved his *** on more than one occasion. His play calling isn't suspect at best...It is suspect. He has lost us more games than he has won us with his horrible play calling. He has to go....now!

I'm so sick of losing the second half every damn week. Our half-time adjustments are absolutely awful and it's killed us all year long. That's on the entire staff.

Which ultimately falls at the feet of the head coach.

I respect what Tony did for us last year, but he's been far from impressive this year with mistakes ranging from clock management to adjustments and motivation.

I believe this is the first time during his tenure that we've lost a game that our talent dictates we should have won. Quality teams don't lose these games.

I don't know, I did not mind the call... Haynos was opened and the LB just made a great play on the ball...

If the LB is a second late on that, Haynos had a chance to make an easy catch and then we would have said the same thing, even it it gaves us 6 most would have said it was a gutsy call...something like the Spread Offense with White in the 1st Jets game in the last drive...

So the odds were running out on us? and it was an away game to boot...

I agree we had the talent to win... but performance today was lacking...

it happens to good teams too...

We are not elite yet, but on any given day, you can get beat by a lesser opponent...

The point is that our season was on the line today and there was zero urgency.

I understand "any given Sunday" but not under these circumstances. Its unacceptable.

Count me as officially on the fire Dan Henning bandwagon. Ricky throwing the ball with 1st and goal? Are you ****ing serious? That is a completely different ball game if we score the TD we should have scored if Dan Henning hadn't @$$ ****ed us right out of it with his cute play calling.

I'm sorry, but there's just no defense for the play in question. None whatsoever. Maybe if Buffalo stuffed the run twice and it was third down. Then I could maybe justify it. But 1st down? You have a beautiful drive and only need to protect the ball and pound it in. The play call was foolish, and it was a completely unnecessary risk that changed the game for the worse.

I was the biggest wildcat proponent i knew, the reason, #23...when he went down, the wildcat died to me....The player's unique skills made that formation, not the other way around, and i recognize that...apparently our coaches disagree....

With the understanding that the player made the formation, the dumbest play call ever, should never of been in the game plan.

By the way, he did the same thing against tampa with the double wide receiver reverse pass crap thingamajig

its fine with ricky in short yardage situations, {ricky just takes the ball and runs anyways, no ball handling responsibilities} but geez louise, lose the damn tricks, because that does require specific skills from the ball handler.

This rides on Sparano, maybe he was too soft about the thanksgiving holiday, whatever it was, the Lads were not up to it today.

We sometimes forget HC Sparano is on a learning curve himself.

i heard sparano ok'd the call...why, i have no idea..he can look at his team on the sideline and understand this is a team thats trying to prove themselves, and that they dont need the wildcat, and was doing a hell of a job doing so that the last two games, up until that point.

I thought it was a bad blunder of recognition.

I wouldnt mind the fire henning posts so much if someone actually offered a replacement. I would certainly love an upgrade but I jhust dont know who we could replace hennning with. The problem with firing Henning is he isnt the worst OC out there, trust me. We can do much worse if we arent careful.

Both, HC Sparano must decide if ball control is the goal,or if letting the OC run things is the goal.

I came on here only to start a thread that was titled "Henning needs to be fired", but then I saw this thread. I don't care if it was an option call. It is not Ricky's fault. It should have never been called in the first place!!!! Ricky should have never had an "option" to throw the f***ing ball!!!!!!!!!! Just run. First and goal from the 3. Makes me think back to the wildcard game against Baltimore last season. Second and goal from the 1 and Miami settles for a FIELD GOAL. Once again Henning RUINS a game and/or season. How about the reverse call at midfield that lost 4 yards? Then we punt on 4th and 3. So thats at least 10 points right there stolen off the board. What I really want to know is how Miami all of a sudden gives up 100 points in the 4th quarter? Is this the identity of Dolphins football now? Go in at halftime, make no adjustments whatsoever, and then choke the game away in the 4th quarter?

There are no excuses for this loss. We needed this A LOT more than Buffalo did. I blame Henning first and foremost for this loss. I blame Henning for the wildcard loss to Baltimore. His play calling is HORRENDOUS. Anyone remember the 4th and 10+ play action call a few games back? I have been saying all along that I think Dan Henning is senile. I knew that this game was over when he allowed Ricky to throw the ball on the 3 yard line. Just like I knew the game was over last year against Baltimore when we had 2nd and goal from the 1 and came away with 3 points.

Dan Henning.....thanks for ruining another season. That makes it two in a row now. Maybe you can make it three in a row next season. I CANT F***ING WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today's loss was strictly play calling all the way around. The offensive side of the ball was probably the worst play calling I can ever remember in a game. I mean the Ricky throwing the ball was just stupid, you dont throw that pass unless the guy is completely open with nobody in 3 yards of him. Then I'm not sure if it was me or what, but it seemed like Henne and Ricky would be moving the team really well out of the "normal" offense and then all the sudden its like well were moving the ball well, lets try the wildcat, or lets see what Pat White has. The f'ing offense is working, just run the dam thing!!!

Defensive side of the ball, how do you not put pressure in Fitz's face all day long?? The first couple series we are getting sacks, he's freaking, playing bad. Then all of the sudden its like well lets just rush 4 guys and give them all day to throw the ball, or everybody on defense can turn their backs and let the QB walk for a 1st down, or worst yet and f'ing touchdown!

Horrible effort with playcalling for the entire game. I was grossly disguested.

Being a Dolphins fan is like having your head stuck in a vise (like that guy in the movie Casino), and Dan Henning is the guy who slowly takes a knife and cuts your throat and it takes you 16 weeks to bleed to death.

    F*** my life.
