Deserves some major props tonight. I actually started feeling bad for Jeff Otah tonight, Wake really made him his little *****. Kudos to Parcells and Ireland for landing this gem in Miami, he's going to be big time pass rusher in this league, he's explosive.
Exactly what I came to post in this thread. I don't know how it was never called. The last play of the game was absolutely ridiculous.
I noticed that. Otah just could not handle Wake at all. Surprised none got called though, quite a few of them were blatantly obvious.
Wake tore up the bucs guyy last week, did work on that one drive he was in, in the pats game and tonight makes Otah look bad lol....I swear he was held over the course of each game and even on that last play where him and porter forced delhomme back a bit....it looked like if they don't hold and release delhomme is in the ground dead LOL
Wake needs to learn a spin/swim to get inside. Then he'll really be a beast. I don't think I've seen him do anything besides speed or bull rush to the outside, and he's still effective.
yeah I agree, he get's his pads low or just plain abuses the tackles but he needs some inside stuff...his outside stuff does open things up for our DE's to get through but they aren't always gonna beat their man so Wake is gonna have to be able to know when to do what...I think he is learning and looks hungry, but for his limited play time he really impresses....
Iam not sure the term effective is capturing what this guy is doing...He's impacting almost every play he plays.. Just curious, if your a gm, and you got the tape that you do now...what would you offer me for cam wake?..dont think he's anything less then a 2nd at this point, with that resume growing, maybe even higher. He's a true dolphin right now...not sure i would give him up at this point.. We have 4 very good, some bordering on great pass rushers..JT.JP.CW.CA.
Wake's disruptiveness created sacks for Porter and Starks. Wake is friggin unbelieveable. I have neve seen a pass rusher like him, honestly, since LT. It's not just speed, it's power too.
All I know is that every play Wake is in my eyes instantly go to him at the snap of the ball because his first step is ridiculous.
In my opinion, at this point Wake has shown enough for me to make him untrade-able. Hes got pass rushing potential unlike anything I have seen in a long long time. He needs to work on some things...no doubt. He needs to become a complete linebacker...but my gawd...he was at Delhome's doorstep on every freakin play. How in the hell did the refs miss so many blatantly holding calls? They also missed the facemask against Henne in the first qtr where he threw behind Ginn....which happened because the guy got his head yanked.... One thing I want to point out... I love how this regime is taking a developmental approach to Wake. Alot of coaches would be tempted to put this guy on the field on every play...but they arent. They are clearly grooming him, putting him in when he has the best oppurtunity to succeed. This clearly...CLEARLY is a coaching staff that is putting together a team that will contend year in and year out.
