You should care. Played it about a month ago in Florence on an Ubi press event. It's better than the first one by a mile. Actually it was the most fun I had with a game in quite a while.
Exactly. We got to play a couple of missions and talk to the developers and they seemed very aware how repetitive the first one was. The stuff I've been able to play wasn't repetitive at all, quite the contrary. And they actually managed to make the protagonist likable.
Please do. The the first mission was a bit lame but once you get to Florence, I had a blast. I'm not doing the review on it so it'll be a while until I get the chance to actually play the full version.
Initial impressions... It's a lot more GTA-ish (sad how that's a way to describe a game these days)... Meaning, it's a lot more character story driven and less errand driven. Similar to GTA, you speak with NPC, they give you a quest, and you do the quest. This is a welcome escape from the 1 - 3 story quests surrounded by 30 jobs in the first game. The game looks great. But it won't wow you the way AC1 did... Why? Because nothing's really new. We've seen the high points and panoramic views already. That doesn't mean they look bad, it just means it's not you. I should note that I'm about an hourt and half into the game, so things can get better. The story is still the strange sci-fi history blend as before but seems to be better thought out and is holding my interest better. All in all, it's fun and I'll keep going till I'm bored. It's no MW2 but it's awesome so far
That is the right and easy choice. Mor thought more about what words to say than he did about the question
I picked up the game today I played it for a few hours - I'm glad you can do more with Desmond besides walk and talk to people. - I like the revamped hand to hand combat, I snapped a guard's neck with a Stone Cold Stunner type move(this was also in the opening sequence, I havent been able to do it with Ezio.) - There is a ****-ton of stuff to do. -The graphics are much better than AC1 but not mind blowing like Uncharted 2, still pretty good though.
http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/mario-in-assassins-creed-2/334860?playlist=featured I like the animus effects, like how buidings collapse when you kill your main target. Oh and the Tombs are a hell of a lot of fun.
Got this yesterday and this game rules... makes a nice break from CODMW2. I reckon it'll take me longer to beat than Uncharted 2.
I loved the first one of this (only played it a few months ago) but since I hadn't played my Xbox in over 2 years I've been buying cheaper games that I missed out on, I'm gonna wait till this comes down in price. I managed to pick up Fallout 3 GOTY edition for £17.99 the other day and Borderlands was on offer today for £16.99 so I got that (even although that is fairly new). I'm still playing MW2 just now and also have Halo ODST and Forza 3 (both came with my new Xbox I had to buy a few weeks ago) to get through. Once I'm through those I'm hoping Assassins Creed 2 will be down in price by then.
I just picked up my collectors edition two days ago, was going to pick it up the fri. after it released but with my wife splitting on me and all I had to wait. And I did not feel much like playing games, but I have played about an hour or so, still don't have much time, and it is pretty cool. Have yet to get a weapon and I am still figuring my way around town.
Beat it today.... Lots of fun. For the most part they found a good balance between making the game a challenge without making it too repetitive or hard to the point of just getting boring. And unlike the other game I got from Gamefly the storyline didnt seem like it was written by a 12 year old with ADD attempting to see just how dizzy he could make someone while trying to figure out what the hell was going on.
got a question, at the midway point: Spoiler in the first AC, i remember often getting zapped back and being desmond after points in the game. i'm at least 8 hours in, been through florence, tuscany, and just heading to romana/venice now, and havent left the animus once. without ruining any good surprises, whats the deal? no real time play with desmond throughout the game?
Your time is spent primarily in the animus, but yes, you do get to play around in the real world for a couple brief periods. Not as much as in the first one though.
Spoiler After you board the ship to Venice, Desmond comes out of the Animus for a bit and yeah there doesnt seem to be alot of moments that take place outside of the Animus
this game was freakin awesome. i absolutely loved every second of it. its right up there with batman and infamous for me as far as just getting engulfed in a story and environment. what a run of awesome games!
MAN am I enjoying this game. It's just BA all around. I'll be honest and admit that I didn't play the first (read the bad reviews and got bad word of mouth) and I could do without the whole sci fi BS, but this is one hell of a game. I'm REALLY enjoying..taking my time and just dinking around the cities. A few comments 1. I spent a considerable amount of time in Italy and I am VERY impressed with the attention to detail. I can visit famaliar places in Venice and Florence...just awesome to do. 2. The parkur button is BA 3. I do digital modeling and can say that this game looks amazing, especially for it's size 4. I'm early on, but I hope that enemies get a bit smarter. I love the fights, but when I get surrounded by 10 guys and they attack one at a time that kind of gives me pause...i'd prefer getting absolutely swarmed so that I have to keep moving.
