Forgive me if this has been brought up already. The Pro Bowl voting is open. I wanted to vote for Ginn as a returner, but he wasn't listed. Davone Bess was our return guy on the list. I wanted to vote for Jason Allen as a special teamer, but he wasn't listed. Lex Hilliard was our special teamer on the list. I voted for every Dolphin listed, whether they deserved it or not. I'm impartial with my NFC voting. But if we're being objective, here's my list of Pro Bowl worthy Miami Dolphins... RB - Ronnie Brown FB - Lousaka Polite OT - Jake Long OG - Justin Smiley OC - Jake Grove DE - Kendall Langford OLB: Jason Taylor KR - Ted Ginn (not on list) ST - Jason Allen (not on list) Honorable mention: K: Dan Carpenter RB: Ricky Williams OG: Donald Thomas OT: Vernon Carey DE: Randy Starks Future Pro Bowlers: CB - Sean Smith CB - Vontae Davis OG - Donald Thomas QB - Chad Henne Please vote as many times as possible! Lousaka deserves some love! VOTE HERE!
Thanks for the reminder,I just voted.I voted all Fins also,I might sound like a homer but it is alright to support the team.
Why is everyone voting for Ronnie instead of Ricky? Do fans on this forum have a "hate" for Ricky? Clearly Ricky IS leading Ronnie in all stats except for total TD's by 1 and rushing yards: 95. But it is worth mentioning that Brown also ran it 42 more times. Total yards Ricky = 608yds Ronnie = 584yds Rushing Average Ricky's - 5.4 Ronnie - 4.3. Receiving yards Ricky - 185yds Ronnie - 66yds I don't understand..........
Dont make you opinion a fact. In past times, Ricky was clearly the better back(I'd like to see Ronnie hit 1,853yds and 17 touchdowns like Ricky did for the Fins in 2002) and numbers-wise right now he is leading Ronnie. Sometimes i just dont get fellow Dolfans.
You just answered your own question, in past times. Who is handing the ball off to Ricky on most his runs? Ronnie. I'm not taking anything away from Ricky, but Ronnie is the better back right now. Ronnie is the straw that makes the Wildcat work. You want to vote for Ricky, be my guest, but numbers don't always tell the whole story. Ricky is having a very good year no doubt, but without Ronnie, we don't have the Wildcat, and Ricky does not have those big runs off of the wildcat.
If were being objective the only ones on this team that deserve it is Jake Grove. There are multiple better options at every position. Only possible argument might be Smiley at guard.
works both ways....any Ronnie wouldn't have was he has. They are both awesome.....together as a team.......almost unstoppable
In one sentence you say you voted for every Dolphin listed Whether the deserved it or not then you say but if were being objective here's my list...What is objective about writing down ONLY Dolphin players????? Ronnie Brown 120-518 rushing yards 10-12 with 66 receiving yards total yards 584 Ray Rice 96-525 rushing yards 38-48 with 349 receiving yards total yards-874 yards almost 300 all purpose yards more than Brown My OBJECTIVE vote goes for Ray Rice The other Positions I have a huge problem with would be Jason Taylor QB sacks-5.5 QB hits-1 QB pressure-7 Tackles-20 forced fumbles-2 passes defended-2 James Harrison QB sacks-8 QB hits-8 QB pressure-17 Tackles-41 forced fumbles-4 passes defended-1 There is NO WAY IN HAITES that I would pick JT over Harrison ...maybe if I were to do massive amounts of hallucinogenics Justin Smiley and Jake Long and Lanford just are not having pro-bowl seasons Polite is rated #1 FB in the nfl by http://www.profootballfocus.com/by_...e=r&runpass=&teamid=-1&numsnaps=25&numgames=1 Grove is rated #2 in the nfl by the same organization above Ginn had 1 good game as a returner and were sending him to the pro bowl...very objective there Jason Allen has 6 special team tackles with 1 missed tackle John Wendling has 13 special team tackles with 0 missed tackles one player with more than double the other player...sorry Jason Allen does not deserve to go to Hawaii unless he pays his own way The only players that even deserve consideration right at this moment are Polite and Grove and Carey(who is rated the #2 tackle in the NFL and #1 right tackle so far http://www.profootballfocus.com/by_...e=r&runpass=&teamid=-1&numsnaps=25&numgames=1 That's my version of being OBJECTIVE
No I didnt answer my own question because after that i wrote, "and numbers-wise right now he is leading Ronnie". I dont understand this... You're kidding right? If Ricky had more yards in the past and more currently, how is Ronnie a better back? I look at facts and I dont see how your opinion is generated from facts. And for the Wildcat, go look at every play we've done so far this year, especially Ronnie's winning TD against the Jets on Monday night. Ricky went in motion and clearly from the replay, you can see 5 defenders bite on Ricky which opened the hole up for Ronnie. Ricky has been more successful when taking the direct snap and just running it. Ronnie hasn't. Ricky has already shown success from taking the direct snap and running it without having Ronnie in motion and also the conventional way. And Ricky's longest run? Conventional Sweep. Without Ricky, Ronnie doesn't have the success in the Wildcat. Again, the biggest obvious was against the Jets because the camera angle was perfect. Note: Go here http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2009101200/2009/REG5/jets@dolphins/recap#tab:watch and click on Ronnie and Ricky highlights. Then look between 2:18-2:19. Anyway, have a good day man and at the end of it all, GO PHINS!!!
As of now, I would say Ronnie, Polite, Grove, Carey, Starks, Langford, and Hilliard are all worthy of consideration. I would also vote for Ricky. He will not have enough carries but, does deserve some votes.
I voted for ricky a no brainer Ricky averaging 5.4 vs Ronnie 4.3 only one can go Lets hope they continue to run like they are
Why feed the haters just look at the stats that all I dam shame there a lot of bashing on our own player
Did I bash Ricky???? I don't think so. Like I said, Ronnie is a better back now, its no bash on Ricky. If Kyrpto thinks Ricky should be an all pro, that's fine, than vote for him. I don't. Ricky is having a good year, in fact I said that already, but he is not the back that had 1,800 yards for us. And he will be the first one to tell you that.
I think realistically, it's Polite, Grove, and Starks at this point, with Long and Brown being secondary/alternates at this point.
I think Ronnie does it all for us,but Ricky is having a better year considering the limited touch's compared to Ronnie. Just my thoughts on it.
Sorry i Guess i took ot the wrong way ,There alot of fan that dislike him and i will never understand why .
No offense fellow Dol-fan but you have yet to provide any hard facts as to why Ronnie Brown is better. If Ricky is leading in all the major categories compared to Brown, how, logically can you say Ronnie is a better back right now??? "Just like facts, opinions must be backed."
Right lets not go by stats , let just base them on members opinion. Ronnie doing good this year but is on record for another disappointed season running under 1000 yards,Yea there still 8 more games to go but chances are he will not make it. But like you said stats dont care so it ok lets sign him to whatever money the guy wants Im not saying ronnies playing bad, but when you got a another Rb averaging 5.4 compare to him 4.3 and still thing that ronnies is doing better then clearly people are being naive.
I still don't think you dolphans get it. We all love ricky and think he's a tremendous back. No one said he's not good or hasn't produced more all purpose yards than ronnie. All they said is at this point in their career ronnie is better. Ronnie has one more td than ricky as well. And by the season's end i don't think Ricky will be leading the stats, he's over 30 and common sense would indicate he'll start to wear down a bit. But for a second back he has been huge for our team this year and should still be plenty valueable the rest of the way out. But remember ronnie runs the wildcat, his YPC is lower because he gets more touches than Ricky. Ronnie is also in his prime. He should still be running hard in weeks 13-16. Again, we all love Ricky. But there's a reason he gets 1 million dollars and Ronnie get 7 +. Ronnie is the better back. 7 games and having very similar stats isn't the only way to judge a players value.
Take the microscope off krypto. YOur splitting hairs on this one. If you want stats, Ronnie has one more TD than ricky. He also has thrown for more yards. But you can't look at 7 games of stats where they are almost even and say Ricky is better. Miles Austin just rang up a 200 yard recieving game. do you think he's better than Larry Fitzgerald becuase he has a few more yards so far this season? No i didn't think so. Back on topic. Gish, i will vote for all dolphins simply because i hate how some players always get in when they don't deserve it because of fandom. So i guess i'll do my part to even the keel. By years end i would predict the real deserving players that should be there would be Ted Ginn - sp returner Ronnie - 1 or 2 back in the AFC Lou-gonnagetfirstdown-sanka Polie - FB JT - I think his stats by years end could be close to his DPOY season, not as good but close , which should warrant a PB selection as an OLB.
I have not ,the only thing i said in older threads was he never lived up to his pick ,meaning at number 2 i wanted to see minimum 1,000 yds seasons. Up to his date he has not done it,So i 100% feel he is replaceble and come the end of the season if he wants some ridiculous contract i would show him the door and never look back. Again my opinion and i surley cant change anyones mind
No Rick is only getting 1 million dollar because no one can fully trust him to play a full season and not go smoke pot. Talent wise, Ricky is the better player and has shone it in his past. Also in his past he is known for smoking pot and retiring. If he were asking for the huge 7 million dollar contract, no one would sign him because there is a pretty good chance that he could go back to his old ways.
Ricky is doing a great job this year but Ronnie is clearly the starter and better than Ricky at this point in their careers. If they both could go that would be sweet but I doubt that happens.
Come on man!! You have bashed Ronnie Brown plenty so you should understand. Except, and I have forgiven and like Ricky again, but Ronnie has been nothing but a hard worker since he came here. Ricky has always worked hard when he's been here but he took some time off to go camping/smoking in a tent somewhere.
Right! You went a little deeper in some threads but the one thing you did was you were relentless in your effort to tell everyone he was nothing special...
And i stand by that ,what you see something special ,I would like to know becuase i been missing it his entire career. He does nothing another Rb cant do,That what i ment
I sure do see something special. He is an excellent Rb. He may not be Ricky Williams of 2003 or Adrian Peterson but he is a top NFL Rb. One that does it all. The coaches must see it to because he starts.
Ronnie Is on pase for a 1000 yard season he is on pase for 1184 yards and 16 touchdowns ronnie has really only had one bad game and that isnt all on him that has a lot to do witht he line and the play of the defense ronnie is the one that helps ricky get alot of thos big runs that he has if we dont have ronnie we dont have the wildcat none of the coachs IMO would trust ricky williams to run the wildcat most of the time Ricky doesnt play that great he has a big run in a game witch gets his YPC up and thats about it other then that he is doing less then ronnie the only game i can honstly say i have seen ricky play great in this year was against the Saints 3 out of his 5 rushing TDs came against the Saints. For the most part Ronnie can give you everthing you want in a back he is a great blocker, great at catching the pass, and a great runner and the coachs trust him in throwing the ball. And again all you are doing here is showing stats the game isnt just stats.
Man if i can bring back every thread that said he on pace,I would need a whole forum just for that,He always on pace and never hits that pace if you know what i mean. What i do admit he been playing much better.
