I'm not much of a fan of ESPN to be honest and I haven't watched a single episode of the 30 for 30 series that they've created and have been airing but tonight is one that I plan on watching. It's about Len Bias, who overdosed on cocaine only two days after being selected by the Celtics. I've never watched Bias play obviously but I've watched videos, highlights, etc. on him and it's impressive. The reason I start this thread is because I want to say RIP Len Bias and I was wondering if anyone here had seen him play in college and would like to share what they saw, the type of player he was, maybe type of person he was on the court?

he was incredible in college. They had the perfect replacememtn player to make a smooth transitiion from the Larry Bird era to the Len Bias era. That death just crippled them for decades. Great, great player. A true tragedy

never heard of the guy, but your post intrigued me enough to look up the wikipedia article on him.

    wow.

sad story for sure. did you guys know this, though?

"On December 5, 1990, Len's younger brother, James Stanley Bias III, known as Jay and also a promising young basketball talent, was shot to death at age 20 following a dispute in the parking lot of Prince George's Plaza, a Hyattsville shopping mall located just miles from the University of Maryland. Two gunmen had allegedly fired several times into the vehicle Jay and two friends were in, and Jay was shot twice in the back. He was pronounced dead at the same hospital where Len had died, and was buried next to him at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery."

yikes. i feel for that family.

Good episode. Very sad story. Interesting take on how his death impacted public policy on drugs.

I saw the Ali/Holmes episode as well. These docs are pretty well done for what they are. Not a bad series by ESPN imo.
