Let's please do it...It really cant hurt us. Maybe he'll come back hungry like JT did. Without JT we dont win yesterday.
a friend of mine just texted me: "He could be a good mentor for our WRs" I responded: So he can teach them what? How to crop easy catches? hell if you want a mentor sign Harisson.
1) He would be coming into a new system 2) He would have no chemistry with Henne 3) Not worth the money 4) Old and done.
Same here,I have his jersey and got to wear it like 4 times, funny I wore it on Halloween for some reason for this first time since we traded him.
! 1) Braylon Edwards had not chemistry with Mark Sanchez and he had a good game vs us 2) Look at number 1 3) This is an area where we are really struggling and you dont want to get a wide receiver that can make big plays 4) 31 is not that old for a wide receiver.
5) Has Football-Related ADHD, rendering him unable to focus even for just 3 straight hours on gamedays. Put Chambers and Ginn on the field together for the rest of the season and Chad Henne will envy Job his lack of cares.
Yea I did not get to wear it at all. It is an orange 40th anniversary Chris Chambers jersey. If we resign him he better wear the number 84
Yea and 89 is free. So if he resigns he will probably still wear 89. I will still wear my jersey if we resign him
He could always pay Turner for #84, it's been done before... He has to clear waivers and the FO has to sign him first though.
Id be up for resigning Chambers again. Even if his production has fallen off, I think he will do a better job getting open, and catching passes than what we have out there now. At least he gives us another threat on the field aside from Ricky and Ronnie. Not only that, but I think it would be extremely beneficial to get some verteran leadership in there for our young WR group. If you think about it, out of all the young units on our team, the WR's are really the only ones without a mentor at the position. Henne had Pennington. The OL had Smiley & Carey (i guess he could qualify) The DL has Taylor, and Ferguson. The LB's have Porter. The DB's had Will Allen. I really don't see the problem with bringing back Chambers, maybe he can help teach our WR's a few things when it comes to route running, and preparation. Chambers never seemed to have had a problem with getting open. Hell, I'd put him at the #1 spot, Ginn at 2, and Bess/Hartline/Camarillo at 3 and see what happens. It cant hurt.
I say he does what Braylon has and come in as the #1 WR immediately. 31 isn't that old for a wide receiver. Emotions poured in when I saw this thread. PLEASE sign him he's better than anything we have right now!!!! **** man I've been wearing #84 for football since 2001 because of Chris Chambers.
I'd take Chambers back. His lack of production this season means only that he is not better than Vincent Jackson and Malcolm Floyd, who are both head and shoulders better than anyone we have. Legedu Naanee is also now better, and he'd start for us too. Just because he is only the 3rd or 4th best WR on SD doesn't mean he wouldn't be one of our top 2. All this talk, that he has lost his wheels, I find hard to believe. Can anyone saying it, prove it, or is it just idle speculation? He is not too old. WRs seldom are washed up at 31 unless they have been plagued by injury. Has Chambers ever had any serious injuries to his lower body? Not that I can recall or find any record of.
I am guessing he was released because of money and I think they needed help at linebacker. Not all Charger fans are happy about this move, but I guess we'll see if anyone claims him tomorrow.
I will always have a special place in my heart for Chris Chambers, yet I think this leadership is about moving on. Often, we get nostaligic for what has been, but aside from JT giving up most of all salary benefits to come back, I don't see it happening. On the other hand, in the very remote chance it does happen, it will be from a business end, not a nostalgic plea.
Well, he was a #4 or #5 Wr in SD and in the last 8 games of his contract so head to head they thought it better to release him and bring in someone else at a different position who would play more. I don't know if we sign him during the season, I do think if he makes it to the football scrap heap we will invite him to camp to see what he has left in the tank.
Perhaps the problem is then that he got lost in the shuffle there this year? And - thus - w/ some younger guys to take his place there, they decided he wasn't worth the money? Meaning, that in an offense with less WR firepower, he might still have something less? I would say definitely have him in for a workout, and then decide. Maybe he really is done, but I wouldn't assume he is just because SD let him go.
Chris Chambers released Dolphins should try and sign Chris Chambers, I heard he was released, not sure why.... d-1
Well, here is the supposed story: Hmm...not sure about that, could be "contractitis' or could be just unhappiness in SD, the guy is 31 and has been on ice the last two seasons, and has no known injuries to his legs.
I didn't read through the 6 pages but heres my 2 cents: I say we bring him in. It could be just because I love Chambers, but I honestly think he could start over any receivers we have. He's only 31 I know he has his best years behind him but he can still play. PS: Just sayin
You just named an All-Pro QB throwing to a Pro Bowl WR, All-Pro TE, great burst back, and sometimes great RB. Of course he won't to super well. Malcolm Floyd isn't bad either. You just said a solid player is bad because he can't succeed around All-Pro players.
please, can we not revisit Chambers .... i thought the 2d rd pick was a steal of a deal. what exactly is he going to show Hartline, CAM or Bess ..... outside of an occassional nice sideline catch .... Ginn is just beyond help ...
http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...hould-dolphins-bring-back-chris-chambers.html There's a good article, and a great video. People are quick to forget some of the amazing catches he made. Yeah, he wasn't MVP caliber, but he was pretty good and made a Pro Bowl. He probably wouldn't be what he was, but if we can get him for cheap, why not. If he makes half of the nice catches he used to, its still a step up. What do Pennington, Jason Taylor and Ricky Williams all have in common? They've all come back, in their 30s, and were/are highly successful here. After being counted out by many. Pennington- Won his 2nd comeback player of the year award, 2nd in MVP voting after being thrown out like trash by the Jets. JT- The star on our defense yet again right now after having a down/injury ravaged season for another team in 2007, playing with a new fire. He'll probably be back with us in 2010. Ricky Williams- We all know what happened there. suspended all of 2006, gets hurt his first game back with us in 2007. Comes back for his first full season in 2008 and plays great, and is now on pace to have his best season since 2003 here in 2009. It could happen with Chambers. Weirder things have happened before.
happened to jeff feagles twice once he got a vacation to some remote islands and the second time he got a nice grill. i was watching america's game on NFLN and that's what he said.
Where in the hell is Aqua? My belief on this is, it couldnt hurt. Hes not much better or worse than any of our WRs and we could use another option, especially if they intend to keep Turner out of action.
