Because Dude Jason Allen is Better than Wilson and should replace Wilson Allen is a bust but at least he is a stud in Special Teams. and besides Allen had a good season in 2007 when our secondary was Horrible he had 3 INTS 60 total Tackles and a FF.. I thought that Jason Allen deserved the roast until Gibril Wilson stepped into the field... I should have apreciated Allen a little Better. Because Wilson is garabge
It was very confusing and it's the best part the Miami Dolphins have ever been or seen...Marino days included. I'm with him and everyone else in that Kuech is an idiot, but the 72 Dolphins are a huge part of the evolution of this game. Some of them really cheerish being the only team to go from start to finish without losing. There is nothing arrogant or showing they're jackasses about that imo. It's being proud to be a part of that........
As someone that was there for 5 home games during that season......I absolutely CHERISH that record myself. We stand alone in that regard....
i know bro, I think griddles was just a little ticked off at kuech, thats all. im sure we all appreciate the 72 dolphins. and yes they are arrogant, now is it to a fault well thats a different argument
Oz man, I'm a huge Dolphin's Fan, however there is not another Franchise in the NFL that is as much a slave to it's past as the Miami Dolphins. I really don't mind Kooch speaking up, nor any of the old school Dolphins speaking up, however Games are played in the here and now, Sparano has what he has to work with, and to me perhaps the old school players should keep that in mind next time they level a broadside against current players. It seemed to work I will grant, however when all time Phins greats are bashing the players every couple of seasons, it is not really helpful. I prefer the Dupes approach "I'd love to work with Ted Ginn".
Cool man!!! I was at every single home game for all those great yrs so it might make me a lil touchy..
Well give me one good example how us being enamored/proud of our past, has a negative impact on the future. I would think having a glorious past would if anything, be motivational....
Do you think that Pittsburgh doesn't use their franchise history as motivation? Of course they do. As a matter of fact they use it to pattern their defensive style, and have for the past 30 years.
No....like when a Fins player needs to dig down deep and he looks around and realizes that hey "I play for a storied franchise", he feels the pride. Aren't you pretty much old as Oz and me? Surprising that you feel like that....usually its the younger fans that have less appreciation for those past accomplishments
We have not won a AFC title game in 25yrs, I'd prefer not to suck on the dry bones of the past jetssuck. Sounds harsh? Perhaps it is, 25 years is four cycles of players, JT is the last remnant of the Wanny Cycle, and people were glorifying that past back then as well...got us nowhere.
When you are part of a successful franchise, you want to equal or surpass those past accomplishments. Green Bay for example: Favre kind of rewrote the book for that franchise. Before he came along they were still stuck talking about SB 1 and 2. Favre and Reggie White single handedly turned that franchise around. Now the franchise is trying to recapture the glory that it saw in 98-99 with Favre. If you think they don't look back at those years and use that as motivation you're in fantasyland.
When a team does not win a world series in over a hundred yrs you want to forget and look only to the future with prayers. When a team wins 2 SB's in a row with one of them being the only team to go unbeaten, you cheerish that, and can still look to the future while doing so. I'm living proof.... :-)
Consider this, if you were a Redskins fan and said the same thing in the 80's you would be speaking of the 1945 NFL title, in the 90's the 1955 nfl championship. Sooner or later, you have to win something in the modern era, the 71-73 Phins teams were great, that is almost 40 yrs ago, we have not won anything since then.
you're whole argument sounds like a "woe is me cuz my team sucks" attitude. We are rebuilding to get back to that point, and finally we are doing it the right way. Most franchises have a much greater span of defeat than we have. Its 30 years for us, but for most franchises it is alot more. Some franchises (like the Bills) haven't even sniffed the success we've had that you want us to forget about.
